An op-ed column published in The New York Times that linked American troops coming home from war and the growth in white supremacist groups drew sharp criticism from veterans groups.
Although writer Kathleen Belew stated in the piece that the "vast majority of veterans are neither violent nor mentally ill" and that those who turn violent are more likely to harm themselves than anyone else, veterans groups read the op-ed as an attack on military veterans.
American Legion National Commander Daniel Dellinger described the op-ed as a "poorly researched and agenda-driven piece," and that "the New York Times should be above the slanderous stereotyping of the men and women that have defended us against the racist ideology that Ms. Belew and the NY Times no doubt oppose."

“vast majority of veterans are neither violent nor mentally ill”
and the vast majority of journalists are not violent or mentally, but they are still Marxists.

Active Duty/Retiree ping.
Or the Oath Keepers?
Our Communist overlords creating “pre-crime” categories of American citizens.
The liberal establishment won’t recognize the fact that it is the veterans who are the ones who stand up for the principles of the U. S Constitution while the liberals are doing everything in there power to destroy it. So the only way for them to discredit the veterans is to label them as terrorist, extremists or racists. All liberals are a waste of good plasma!
What’s wrong with the people of this country that they hate the people they send of to war and truly serve this country? And they wonder why this nation is divided. It’s an insult to cheapen everything of those who honorably served their country.
It’s no surprise. Most people in all corners of politics, business and academia disrespect those of us with prior service and cheat us while claiming otherwise. Most of us keep more to ourselves and allow most of the anti-American noise of lifetime civilians to roll off our backs. Buddies, it’s time to restrict our relations more to our families, to each other and our own kind. Another little caution here: avoid the few backstabbers who have been in ranks and now betray the rest of us. Our nation has been sinking further into moral bankruptcy and corruption for over 40 years.
Recognize imposters and avoid them, too. I’ve seen more than a few crooks in recent years claiming prior service, who also spew counter-culture speech while bragging about perverted behaviors, doing drugs and indulging in petty crimes with their lifelong civilian friends. Be as you were as much as possible during your best years of dedicated service.
As far as I’m concerned she still Belew it.
I hate....commies and islamists.
I thought the biggest problem was with gang members joining up to get training.
NYT has a specialty in poorly researched, agenda driven pieces. Why would anyone expect something different?
IOW, the same sorry assed BS “study” that lay under the hit piece is defended by the AUTHOR of that “study”. This agitprop site for the Obamanation isn’t “military” at all. Thanks NKP_Vet.
