If americans really understood the depth and width of welfare fraud that goes on every single day, they would be hanging their congressman from lamp posts....

I would estimate at minimum 50 % of these receiving entitlements actually don’t qualify. ..

Eligibility for food stamps is difficult to lose, and last I knew wasn’t permitted as sanctions when a client receives too much aid in some other area, or in that one. For example, they get food stamps and medicaid for three kids, but two of the kids wind up spending the summer with an aunt out of state, and the mother doesn’t report the change. When (that is, if) it is discovered, or reported later (that does happen), one or more grants get reduced by more than that amount in order to recoup the difference. Food stamps just goes down to the level that is appropriate at the time (based on mouths to feed), but the overage is never repaid.
