In a strong show of bipartisanship, even the radical Democrat candidate for Texas governor, Wendy Davis, blasted the BLM machinations. “Wendy Davis strongly opposes any potential seizure of private property by Texans from the Bureau of Land Management,” declared a statement released by her campaign communications director.

Much more likely that she recognized the huge support that Abbott has for his strong stand and letter and decided that she'd better try to get on the right side of the issue.

I’m by no means a defender of Abortion Barbie, but I think that statement means she’s got an illiterate, non-proofreading staffer.

It appears much of the land managed/owned by BLM SHOULD be private property. Art I Sec 8 Cl 17 allows the feds to purchase land by consent of the states for "needed" land.

It looks to me like the feds own way too much land. I think the states should demand proof of "need" and where there is no need, withdraw consent, and but back the land for a reasonable and fair price.

Congress can change that any time it wants to.

I recall a certain person on the FR site made a statement against Bill Clinton and Al Gore during Clintons impeachment trial. He wondered why if the law makers had all the evidence against Bill and Al for treason, why didn't our lawmakers arrest them, tried them and executed them for helping the enemy. Instead, a man named Trafficant became the fall guy and he was a democrat and went to prison.

I remember his statement caused the Secret Service to come to his home and took pictures of him and his wife. The theme of his visit was calling Clinton "The Commanderless in Chief!"

And I wonder why can't our law makers arrest Obama for treason. It seems he is helping and aiding the enemy!

Oh! By the way, Mr. and Mrs. Grassontop went to D.C. w/their sign which said "Treason is the Reason" and these two were my wife and I. Yes! We protested with freepers in D.C. and it was fun.

Not quite.

They’ll allow the 30-50 million illegals to become citizens, have them populated in already developed areas. The well-to-do in those areas will go somewhere else thus increasing the value of wherever they wind up.

Taxes on the spots now inhabited by the illegals will remain the same or higher.
Taxes in the new areas will rise.

That’s the plan.

We visited the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monumentpark. Clinton did not give it to the National Park Service to run as is the usual case, he instead set up a new BLM park bureaucracy to run it.

I think it means the land is still BLM managed land and perhaps not as restrictive, as in for ever, as National park lands. I believe congress could make mining legal if it wanted to.

Grazing is permitted

“Too bad nobody stopped Clinton when he grabbed all that Utah soft coal for the benefit of his Indonesian benefactors.”

People had faith in Federal injustices and Federal elections then. The 20 years sense and reflection upon the past 150 have proven such faith was boundless.

This Federation is slowly falling apart, and when the Feds finally do uses deadly force they will be proving that they lost the ability to rule with the Consent of the Governed and instead only inspire a new Generation of literal patriots to rise again and find ways undermine that illegitimate power.

“Congress can fix the BLM any time it wants to.”

I think the House should hold a vote on returning the land to the States, and ending BLM’s lordship.

As a native Texans I think they need to start with the Red River. The BLM has no business threatening Texas land owners south of the river with arrogant claims.

That Land is privately owned and before that It was never owned by Washington. Texans fought and died for the right to govern that land. We aren’t going to let it go without a fight.

If I where Gov. Perry and Greg Abbott I would tell the “Feds” that ANY federal agent that shows up on this land would be arrested for Trespassing and they would use the NATIONAL GUARD to back up Texas if they had too!

ever see the river up close? it does indeed create new land on one side and washes away land on the other as flow increases and banks erode or sand bars are deposited.

"As written, this statement implies that Texans are seizing private Property from the BLM, or perhaps I’m mistaken??"

LOL! I stopped reading after parsing "Wendy Davis said". Yeah, Texans seizing "private property" from the FedGov...
