It’s not just the armored police vehicles…
The Lewiston, Maine police department unveiled the MARCbot IV, or Multi-Functional Agile Remote Controlled Robot, fresh from the U.S. Army and complete with an Xbox controller.

The vehicle and the robot were free to the LPD from the Obama administration as a reallocation of military surplus.

Meanwhile, the Elgin City Council will consider a police department proposal to purchase an armored vehicle like this one to use in dangerous situations

Elgin, Illinois will vote this week to approve the police department’s request for an armored vehicle.

Then there’s this…
Police departments across the nation are recruiting potential officers to dress in complete grass camo for special operations.
Unbelievable.

Makes you miss the time whn the police looked more like this.

And every boy considered that to be the first thing they wanted to be when they grew up because it was thought to be a position that only people of good character and selflessness went into.

“Police departments across the nation are recruiting potential officers to dress in complete grass camo for special operations.”

I suppose when you’re trying to blend in in an urban setting, i.e. the hood, the type of “grass” camo becomes crucial.

Saw one of these black cop-tanks in the fast lane on I 295 in Jacksonville last week. Whoever was at the wheel was in character because it was going a good 5-10 mph faster than the prevailing traffic. Maybe it was just a coincidence that a couple of new donut shops have opened close by...

This isn’t about the urban setting anymore than it is about stopping actual crimes.

If I see someone in a Ghillie suit on our property I’ll shoot them. Period.

Hunters wear blaze orange. Police wear uniforms with badges.

Trespassers wear Ghilie suits.

They should have joined the Army if they want to be armed and behave like soldiers in combat.

You can say that again. I was just trying to be facetious.

Very, very bad trends, overall, but...

The Lewiston ME PD should have tanks and A-10s. It’s Somalia-Over-the-Sea up there.

WTH does A POLICE DEPARTMENT HAVE TO HAVE ‘GHILLIE SUITS’ FOR???

Being the “fake NCIS Gibbs”???

Ghillie suits have only one purpose, sniping somebody or somebod’ies’. Making sure the dog catcher does his job in the city park? Catching stray dogs and tasering them, as they poop on you?
What????

Wonder if the new heavy equipment has a special extension to help get cats out of trees; can it be re-programmed to hand out jaywalking tickets and open cars with the keys locked inside?

Or have the police decided to allow themselves to be used as mercenaries in the Obama administration’s declaration of World War III on America’s citizens....

Military-Style Grass Camouflage?
Sheesh! That’s a ghillie suit. Learn the proper jargon if you’re going to write an article.

“The supply of weapons and ammunition is most difficult, particularly at the time the unit is established, but this problem can always be solved eventually. Guerrilla bands that originate in the people are furnished with revolvers, pistols, rifles, spears, big swords, and land mines and mortars of local manufacture. Other elementary weapons are added and as many new-type rifles as are available are distributed. After a period of resistance, it is possible to increase the supply of equipment by capturing it from the enemy. ... An armory should be established in each guerrilla district for the manufacture and repair of rifles and for the production of cartridge, hand grenades and bayonets. Guerrillas must not depend to much on an armory. The enemy is the principal source of their supply.”

Mao Tse Tung, On Guerrilla Warfare; re: taking enemy resources and using those resources against the enemy.

Thanks for the resource, Mao.
