I have been informed today by another poster that FR is fully behind TPX. I wish to caution all FReepers to keep wary eyes on TPX to insure they don’t end up as a good start for the Tea Party but GOPe-Lite in the end.

Taxed Enough Already began as and still is a movement of and by Constitutional conservative Americans increasingly fed up with the GOPe lack of adequate representation and effectiveness.

You may have seen recent reports that political bosses in the Republican Party are working feverishly to officially nominate Bill Cassidy -- before you've even had a chance to vote and make your voice heard.

These are the same people who gave us failed candidates who lost to Mary Landrieu and who now say that Cassidy should be our only choice. To do this, senior party officials are collecting signatures from among members of the State Central Committee to recognize Cassidy as the official nominee. So far, they've had trouble getting even a few hundred signatures, but if they do, Cassidy will get on the ballot by paying a small filing fee of just a few hundred dollars.

But there is one thing we can do to fight back and show the establishment that we won't let them select one of their moderate friends over One of Us: We can circulate our own petition. State law allows anyone to run for U.S. Senate in Louisiana if they collect at least 5,000 valid signatures from voters across the state.

Let's show the bosses that not only are there 5,000 people who want Col. Maness to have a chance, but that there's a team of conservative supporters who will collect the signatures he needs to give him that chance!

We are quite aware what the TPM is all about.

It still has the same leadership it had when it started, the millions of Tea Party type Conservative Americans.

Don’t put a lot of stock in disgruntled posts by people that for some reason have a grudge against the TPX.

I meant that with Amy Kremer leaving. I met her a few months back in New Orleans, was running late, and had just missed the event, as they were packing away their items. I’ll be in BR, and plan on getting other riders to tag along.

TPX keeps it’s direction no matter any change of personnel.

Not speaking of Kremer here, but some changes in personnel were necessary in the past to keep it on track.

Glad you got to meet her, she is a strong conservative and a friend of mine.

Having been involved with TPX from the very beginning I can say with certainty that it keeps getting better and it’s focus stays on the principles of the TPM.

There's been some touchiness going back to 2012 when TPX started inviting politicians like Newt Gingrich on the bus. Don't feel too badly about your treatment, I received the same.

And, you are absolutely correct in counseling wariness regarding any organization purporting to represent the tea party, that starts advocating this or that candidate too strongly. If a given candidate represents tea party values, he or she will show it in word and deed.

Gatekeepers and opinion shapers are not necessary and are in fact ripe for co-opting by the old guard moderate GOP consultant class. It's actually rather reminiscent of them, in fact.
