A lady I knew had one take her small dog (she lived in base housing in Wyoming). Such things happen but foxes tend to be beneficial. They keep the rodents in check.

We’ve foxes in our yard, and they’ve never caused any harm. These people are ignorant.Back when I lived up north several of the farmers had fox problems. They did not eat the veggies, but they and the ground hogs would burrow like no tomorrow. Quite a few of the locals would have land management permits allowing them to be killed out side of the normal season.
