Bombshell: Harry Reid behind Bundy cattle ranch scandal, according to purged documents
Biz Pac Review ^ | 4/12/14 | Joe Saunders

Amid the growing standoff between Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and the federal government, reports are growing that Senate Majority Harry Reid’s little-known ties to a Chinese solar energy giant could be playing a major role in the confrontation.

Reid, D-Nev., and his oldest son, Rory, a former chairman of the Clark County, Nev., County Commission, are both deeply involved in a plan by ENN Energy Group to build a huge solar farm in southern Nevada, according to a Reuters report from August 2012.

Land the Bundy family has been using for cattle ranching is getting in the way of that project, according to documents formerly posted on the Bureau of Land Management’s government website but since removed.

The acting director of the Bureau of Land Management is Neil Kornze, a former senior policy advisor for Reid.

Here is a screenshot of one crucial document from Google’s cache.

The most interesting line might be:

“Non-Governmental Organizations have expressed concern that the regional mitigation strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone utilizes Gold Butte as the location for offsite mitigation for impacts from solar development, and that those restoration activities are not durable with the presence of trespass cattle.”

The federal government’s story so far is that the whole showdown is necessary for the protection of gopher tortoises.

While it wouldn’t at all surprise me, I’ve learned long ago that when the word “bombshell” is used ... it ain’t.

There was another article which said it had to do with huge oil reserves. So is it oil or solar? Or both?

The same can be said about:

Wind turbines + politicians = $$$$$$$$$

Ethanol in gasoline + politicians = $$$$$$$$$

New type lightbulbs + politicians = $$$$$$$$$

Global warming theory + politicians = $$$$$$$$

And in each instance much of the $$$$$$$$ ends up in the pockets of the politicians.

There's also stories about it having to do with water rights. Supposedly the feds are using eminent domain to buy up land that has water rights. Then they strip the land of its water rights (which they keep for themselves) and then sell the land back to suckers.

Nevada is a microcosm of the US: A bunch of Californians moved in because of the cheap housing; people who have no connection with the history or mindset of Nevadans. These people now outnumber the original Nevadans. They will want their water and their oil and their solar power and they won't give two beans about what happens to the original farmers, ranchers, and settlers.

This is partly due to the comparatively liberal attitudes of the newcomers. But it is also partly due to the "conservatives" who made Nevada such a great business environment that it enticed so many people to move there.

In any case, so long as the neon lights stay on and the shrimp cocktails remain chilled in Vegas they'll be happy.

Reid’s involvement will also be crucial for obtaining a federal waiver needed for the development to happen — the 5,400 acres under scrutiny are part of 9,000 acres conveyed to Clark County by the Colorado River Commission in 2007. County documents say the 5,400 acres are encumbered by a patent restriction that limits development “which must be waived or modified by the federal government to allow the proposed (solar) development.”http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3143691/posts

interesting, this needed Federal approval, selling public land to a foreign interest....MSM not covering

I think so too. But if that ain’t a run-on sentence....

Too bad for us though there are not enough cajones in Congress to motivate anything beyond rhetoric.
