Computer chips...high-rez monitors...Piffle! When will I be able to buy graphene super-conducting interconnects and speaker cables for my audio system?

That means that within 4 years or so, Apple will release one at 3x the price of the ‘fairly affordable’ ones and call it a ‘revolutionary game changer’.

Think if they can create superconducting power cables out of this. That would be revolutionary.

Hope it can be scaled....that always is the problem. Hopeful news at least

The breakthrough in this article is one of scaling, they can create uniform graphene sheets the size of a computer chip wafer. Other graphene applications often don't need regular graphene flakes, but chips do. They can now create chip sized flakes, exactly the size they need.

when one speaks of scaling, we do not mean in the laboratory. Scaling requires one to be able to repeatedly do the thing (yes at larger size) in a cost effective manner. Many times one can accomplish part of the goal (i.e. doing something repeatedly with proper quality) but not in a cost effective manner. that is why I said it is hopeful. We will see what additional work produces

What’s really needed is an effective data input method for small devices.

I agree. I don't want a small phone. Ditched my smart phone and use a 7 inch tablet now.

Have you tried voice input. On my device it keeps up word for word, just missing one every now and then. It even picked up conversation between two of us, as if it was transcribing our conversation. Amazing.

Thanks Vince Ferrer. I'm always impressed with the number of graphene topics.
