Mozilla gets money from Google when someone uses Google through Firefox. However, free or commercial, this is a case of it not being about the money, but about the principle of the thing.

Look up who funds Monzilla. Google is one of the major supporters of this “nonprofit.”

Mozilla is paid by Google to serve google results...they get a cut of the revenue they produce by your browsing...less browsers equals less revenue...
