Mental health disorders seems to effect most every veggie I ever met. Although most are Socialist/Dem voters, the real question might be like the chicken-egg conundrum ...

Yes... and no. There are groups of people whose ancestors ate a region or area specific diet for centuries. In that time, those who did well on that diet should have flourished, while others did not do as well. So a diet of buffalo meat and relatively scant grains, and fruit in season, will be more conducive to being for healthy for one such group, where others will thrive on seal meat and blubber.

Despite the desire of our OSFA* regulators, it doesn't, and disregarding genetics will mean people end up eating a diet which is alien to their physiology.

Junk science. From the study's fine print --

"Potential limitations of our results are due to the fact that the survey was based on cross-sectional data. Therefore, no statements can be made whether the poorer health in vegetarians in our study is caused by their dietary habit or if they consume this form of diet due to their poorer health status. We cannot state whether a causal relationship exists, but describe ascertained associations"

I have a 8-10% body fat and weigh 235 pounds from working out, normal BP and pulse at 53 at rest, yet according to BMI I am grossly overweight.

They say a man at 6’2” should weigh 170 pounds. If I was a woman I would find that repulsive as a look.

While you are at it, check out the diets of real mass murderers like Stalin and the all time champ, Mao Tse-tung. Those other guys were just pikers in comparison.

No one actually knows how many died in Khan's campaigns. And there was no were near the population base to work over as was available in the 20th Century.

Vegetarians/vegans have disproportional influence in government agencies, environmental NGO’s, and healthcare organizations (such as registered dietitians).

I got a lot healthier once I abandoned their stupid advice and went mostly high-fat, low-carb, fat-adapted (keto), with an occasional carbohydrate-rich evening. Except for the occasional carb-up, I pretty much eliminated sugar and starch.

Yep. Rather than playing the animal product and diet restriction mind games the vegetarians play, I focus on the quality of the food - fresh, non-processed, home grown, chemical free, non-GMO, no hormones, low or no antibiotics, etc. Also lots of variety and try not to overcook. Vitamins and minerals are as, if not more important than your fat-carb-protein intake ratio.

It seems to me that most vegetarians also produce a lot of “smug”. They simply can't keep their sense of moral superiority to themselves.

My husband was that height and weight after doing Weightwatchers and achieving goal weight. He looked skinny, and people kept asking him if he was ok. Maybe a teenager looks good that lean, but a mature man needs some more mass. My husband looks good at between 200-210.
