Is Russia jerking Obama's chain or what? What a pathetic display.

Kerry and Lavrov will be discussing the terms of Ukraine’s submission to Russia. Probably some demilitarized zone where Russia has direct land access to Crimea.

Full agreement with both of you and if russia owns the night, my prediction will have been wrong, which would make me happy for being wrong.

> The Russian foreign ministry said Washington had initiated the call between Kerry and Lavrov... Flying from Riyadh to Ireland for a refuelling stop on Saturday, Kerry decided to turn around after speaking to Lavrov from the plane... Paris for a meeting as early as Sunday or Monday.

Thanks don-o.

Sergey Lavrov called kerry and said “Boy bring me a cup of coffee and I’ll let you kiss my shoe soles.”

They probably already have access under an old agreement. I heard they will build a bridge.

I hope Kerry remembers to bring his knee pads. (cackle)

I don't think "old agreements" have been honored too well. A bridge from Russia to Crimea will cost millions.

Sergei Lavrov was probably bored and looking for a good excuse to get out of the house over the weekend, and who should call but John Kerry inviting him to Paris for a few days.

John Kerry probably set up the meeting from his plane after the White House called to inform him he’d be expected to appear on the Sunday talk shows when he got home. Or maybe Theresa phoned to tell him there wasn’t enough snow at their chalet for skiing this weekend.

The Lavrov-Kerry meetings could go on indefinitely — maybe next week in Monte Carlo, then on to Ibiza, Venice, Salzburg during the Mozart Festival. Nothing will stop Vladimir Putin if he’s decided to reconstitute the Soviet Union, but that doesn’t mean the Russian and American foreign ministers have to end their beautiful friendship and stop spending their taxpayers’ money on lavish vacations.

"Kerry calls Russian counterpart Lavrov..."

You mean the Russians also have a sanctimonious, insufferable, incompetent and unqualified 'military war hero' (choke) in the highest levels of their government?

Who'da thunk it?

Kerry and 0bama talking about getting the Bear to exit the Crimea is nothing but mental masturbation.

Vlad has his warm water port, nothing to discuss as far as he is concerned.

Putin knows Obama and Kerry would rather talk than act.

Crimea has always been Russian. If the West can’t acknowledge reality, that’s its problem.

As for a deal on Ukraine its possible but has to involve Russian-American guarantees. A federal Ukraine is the likely outcome of any talks.

Hi, I hope you are doing well.

Crimea has always been Russian.

Kinda. Their history is replete with conquerors.
