Murphy thought about switching party? No thanks, we have enough RINOs.
Murphy thought about switching party? No thanks, we have enough RINOs.
Fieldmarshaldj: “Murphy is an odd one. He supposedly put out feelers last year about switching parties (!) but was rebuffed.”
It would have been a switch back, he was a RINO (even donated to Romney in 2008) until a few months before he launched his congressional bid. I’m glad he was told to go to hell when he offered to switch back.
Auh2oRepublican: “we have a chance to wipe out all Democrats in Romney districts nationwide this November”
Master List of all rats in Romney districts with his %. I think I got all of them
UT-4 OPEN (67.2%) Certain Gain, Rep-Elect Mia Love (knock on wood)
WV-3 Nick Rahall (65.0% Can you believe Al Gore carried this district 14 years ago?) Faces his stiffest challenge ever from party switching State Sen. Evan Jenkins.
NC-7 OPEN (59.2%) Certain Gain
GA-12 John Barrow (55.4%) Several challengers, don’t know much about them
MN-7 Collin Peterson (53.9%) Faces his first real challenger in years, State Sen Torrey Westrom, who needs cash.
FL-18 Patrick Murphy (51.7%)
TX-23 Pete Gallego (50.7) Like Murphy he beat a freshman Republican, running ahead of Obama, (except he may have actually won, while fraud put Murphy over the top). The man he beat “Quico” Canseco is running again but first faces a runoff with against a better funded Anglo, Will Hurd.
AZ-1 Ann Kirkpatrick (50.4%) 3 serious challengers including 2 State Reps.
AZ-2 Ron Barber (49.9%) Martha McSally, who won in 2012 and was robbed, is running again.
There was a poll taken earlier in the month that had Nick Rahall trailing Evan Jenkins by a wide 54-40% margin (GOP poll, Tarrance Group). WV is moving back to when it was a premier GOP state from the period between 1895-1933. The Union-Democrat stranglehold is being broken. If only the state had more seats to add to the GOP fold (it had 6 at its zenith from 1913-1963).
Sweet. Hopefully the state leg turns soon. Electing a Governor and other statewide officers in 2016 is a must.
I would think the leading choice for Governor is AG Patrick Morrisey, although as the first elected GOP AG in 80 years, I’m sure he’s up to his neck in unraveling Democrat corruption.
Isn’t there a black candidate running to unseat Murphy?
Yes, the subject of this thread. : )
WV only has three House seats, and will drop to two after the 2020 Census. Its Republican resurgence will have the biggest effect on the U.S. Senate, where Capito will become the first Republican Senator from WV in 56 years and whete Manchin likely will either switch to the GOP or lose in 2018.
