An American hero for sure. RIP. It’s been so long; I was thinking he was the captain of the spy ship captured by the North Koreans.

Post Vietnam, I taught a SERE (Survival Escape Resistance and Evasion) course to Division Troops (5th and 25th). Commander Denton’s experience as a POW was the source and inspiration for the course. After getting to know him and his life, I’ve asked many times before acting, ‘What would Commander Denton Do?’.
Commander Denton was my hero. Rest in Peace, Sir.

It was men (and women) like this who made America, not community organizers who are little more than grifters and extortionists. It’s countrymen such as Jeremiah Denton that make me proud to be an American and I hope that if ever I’m in a similar situation that I can be half as strong.

A reporter asked, "how have you been treated?
The broadcast on American television on May 17, 1966, held a secret message This brave US Navy Commander, usin gMorse Code, had blinked out T-O-R-T-U-R-E.
God rest his soul and forever hold him dear.
He was a patriot like few others, IMO.
