And yet, and yet...there are people here on FreeRepublic who insist that all we have to do is pack the Senate with GOP people, and everything will be peachy keen. Go figure.
Sure, let's pack the GOP Senate with McConnell acolytes. That'll really turn things around inside the beltway!

They want to be token "conservatives" inside a vast liberal bureaucracy. They feel very comfortable in that role, and it's a role that doesn't require a single ounce of authentic conservative thought. In fact, it doesn't require any thought at all. Just the strong desire to be liked and "kept" by powerful leftist players.
