At a Foreign Affairs Committee mark-up Tuesday, Grayson said that the referendum in Crimea was the entirely legitimate vote by a group of people who were upset that their chosen leader,...

I wonder what position Alan will take when Texas votes to secede from the union? What will he think when America starts to fall apart because of the leadership in this country?

Here is an ass putting up a smoke screen in the form of a silver lining. It's like saying, "at last their weren't 5,000 innocent Americans killed on 9/11."

I may have to change my opinion of the whole Crimea thing. There is no way I would ever agree with this psychopath.

"The US" should be neither pleased nor displeased with the democratically decided annexation. Our government should be disinterested in the non-threatening doings of another sovereign country.

But, while we're choosing sides, what does Grease-son think of the democratically elected government of Ukraine being overpowered by anarchists?

The leftists are frightened to death that Americans will perceive issues of greater importance to them than Globull Warming, gay marriage and bullying.

I’m going to rob a local bank and use the Grayson defense.

Maybe some republican congressman down there should take over Grayson’s district and overthrow him. See how he likes it.

I expect Grayson’s resignation no more than 60 seconds after Russia crosses its border once again, which should be any time now

Except for the part where Russia was true to its corrupt, totalitarian form. That is, their stuffing of votes, observers being generally from the old USSR, and roughing up anyone not going by their script.

At the least, it is something not to be recognized. At the most, something to contain(before it spills over to anyone else) by standing firm against Russia. Either way, stop only when Russia backs down. Unfortunately, this administration will do nothing that is truly effective.

For once Grayson agrees with me. Putin would have been derelict if he had failed to occupy Crimea before NATO planted its flag in Ukraine. Let's not forget that the elected government in Kiev was overthrown in a West-aided coup, replacing Moscow's ally with a hostile government in control of the Black Sea. There is no way Russia was going to let its strategic naval and air bases in Crimea fall into NATO's hands, and we were naive to believe that Moscow would just stand by and watch it happen.

NATO has overplayed its hand. After the fall of the old Soviet Union, we convinced Russia to withdraw its troops from the old Soviet bloc nations by promising that we wouldn't advance NATO into the voids they left behind. Then in 1999 and in 2004, we added 12 new NATO members across Eastern Europe. That was pretty slick, but Russia took notice.

In 2008, Russia invaded Georgia to prevent NATO from expanding east of the Black Sea. Now the West has helped depose Russia's Ukrainian ally, and in response Russia has annexed Crimea and is now on the verge of splitting Ukraine in two. Who couldn't see this coming?

He probably is also pleased by his beating of his divorcing wife as a bloodless transfer of power.
