The Census Bureau’s Philadelphia office wasn’t just corrupting the nation’s unemployment rate by fabricating data. It was also filing false information about inflation in this country.

Just how large an effect this fraud was having on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) — and consequently the cost of living adjustments for Social Security recipients and others — is not yet known.

These phony numbers help the government tout economic recovery when there has been none.

We have a population of about 315,000,000

Statics say that we have 204 million employable

We have 92 million who have left the workforce.

204-92 =112 million people working

112,000,000/204,000,000 = 54.9% unemployment rate.

Or it could be just like they say 6.7%

I don't agree with that number. Many of those who are neither employed nor looking for work were never in the workforce. They may be career welfare, full-time parents, disabled, or for a number of other reasons outside the job market. A more relevant number is the "civilian labor force participation rate", which shows a 3.2% decrease since the communist took power, or a little less than 8 million people who dropped out of the workforce - in large part because of Obama's incompetence.

That being said the depth and impact will be difficult to sort out. There’s a ton of crowing on here about “who could have guessed” and that’s very simple to do. The problem is that there is no other source of data. Period. That’s a potentially huge problem for the market.

The Commerce Department seems to have done a cursory review of Buckmon’s shoddy work after he was bagged in 2010. But it doesn’t appear to have done an official report, and it certainly didn’t make this transgression public

Exactly.  All we got there is that we can definitely say "ain't it awful".  Again.  We're still stuck with the fact that we've got to get beyond self pity and go back to earning a living, and that takes real dollars'n'cents numbers.  The article's got none of that, all it's got is--

And I’m still looking into it.

Seriously?  That's it?  Don't get me wrong, this $hit's important and we need to keep an eye on things.  Besides the fact that lot's of business transactions hinge in inflation measurements we need to remember that the gov't first got into the CPI biz for national defense. 

So if all this is true then it won't be the first time defense issues were corrupted for politics.

I don't agree with that number.

The fact is I don't agree with any propaganda the produce. When in fact because they require that witholdings be made from every paycheck, they can know precisely how many people are working or how many are receiving unemployment insurance payments. Computers are marvelous things but like progressives the don't understand the concept of morality.
