Democrats said to push for new changes to ObamaCare amid midterm fears

Several Democratic senators reportedly plan to introduce as soon as Thursday a set of principles and legislation aimed at fixing parts of ObamaCare amid concerns the law could cost Democrats House seats and possibly the Senate in November.

Sens. Mark Warner, D-Va.; Mark Begich, D-Alaska; Mary Landrieu, D-La.; Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D.; Joe Manchin, D-W.Va.; and Sen. Angus King, I., Maine, will introduce proposals to improve the law, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Begich and Warner have called for allowing "copper" plans on the government-run health exchanges. The new insurance plans would offer lower premiums and higher out-of-pocket costs than the "bronze," "silver" and "gold" options currently offered.

"I've always been a believer that the law was not perfect, but you should continue to work to improve it," Begich told the newspaper. "People are seeing that as it's implemented, there are tweaks you need to do and there's just nothing wrong with that."

Typical Democrat solutions to bad legislation: more bad legislation.

The way to fix this monstrosity is to make the plans a la carte.
Put a price on every possible coverage and let each person choose what they want to cover. Very easy to do, since Insurance is constructed that way in the first place. Example: Pregnancy coverage $ x, Prescription coverage
$ Y, Hospital stay $ z.
This would not mandate that a 60 year old couple, or a couple that has had a hysterectomy or a vasectomy has to buy pregnancy coverage.

To: tobyhill; everyone
A husband and his wife used to have an insurance policy that helped cover medication, doctor visits, etc. but the insurance company canceled their policy because it was not up to the standards of obamacare thus the couple had to go on the obamacare website to sign up for obamacare. They were appalled at the cost differential, high deductibles, the lack of affordable plans for their budget verses what they once paid for insurance coverage. The obamacare insurance does not cover what their prior insurance covered (these folks are in their forties btw), the cost is higher for coverage (much higher), the deductibles are higher (much higher) and the obamacare does not cover some of the medications their prior insurance covered. This is being repeated over and over nationwide and these people had been lifelong democrat voters. The wakeup call has come in for these lifelong democrat voters and they are learning that the aca is the non-affordable care act aka obamacare. This couple is frightened and confused but realize only now their mistake in having voted democrat all those years. Yes, everyone, this is going to be fun to watch except there are real people with real lives that have been sold a law that they are finding out was a complete lie for and to everyone. Don't know if this couple will quit voting democrat but an opportunity is there to awaken a large number of people and they are being awaken to the fact that obamacare is zer0care.

“I think I’ll hold out for the “Aluminum” plan...”

I’m going for the Rusty Nail plan...

Once the employer mandate kicks in, there will be millions like that husband/wife you describe. I expect that most companies of size will give employees a sum of money every year (maybe enough for the cheapest plan on the exchange) and direct them to go shopping for their own insurance.

Next they'll offer a plan that only costs $750.00 a month, and with no deductible, but it doesn't cover any medical expenses. Just makes you compliant.

Seeing as the Democrat Party is a criminal enterprise, and what you describe here is simple extortion, I wouldn't put it past them.

I can’t wait until they come up with the “tin” plan or the “aluminum” plan or the “ferrous-oxide” plan.

They’re going into self-preservation mode. And that’s a dangerous thing for the Country.

They really need to be thrown out on their asses and barred from public office for life.

“They really need to be thrown out on their asses and barred from public office for life.”

Well, that’s a start. But, as you know by now, my answer for most situations is EINSATZGRUPPEN - it’s 100% effective.

Check out “Plan F” .... :-) ...

http://www.medicare.gov/supplement-other-insurance/compare-medigap/compare-medigap.html

Another chart ... on Page 11 (page number at top of page) ...
https://www.medicare.gov/Pubs/pdf/02110.pdf

Plan F also has a “high deductible version” so you can choose Plan F High Deductible — or — Plan F No Deductible.

I have Plan F NO DEDUCTIBLE - with 100% of everything paid.

That won’t happen because the idea here is wealth redistribution.

The idea is to force everyone who has to pay, whether they need it or not, to pay more to cover free, and low cost pregnancy and birth control to the people who may not pay a dime.

Watch for more of these tactics as the year progresses. More tricks, distractions, ect.

None are going to help them

Lower premiums with higher co-pays. Pay me now or pay me later. Now, that sounds like a great “fix”!

Politicians know the voters are dumb enough to vote for them if they pretend to give a damn during election years.
