Good points and well made, except you forgot the snazzy sunglasses. Along with what you said, Vlad has some really cool sartorial sensibilities, you gotta admit.

'Specially for, well, you know... a... uh, a rooskie.

It is true, confirmed. Also Cantemirov division. Amassing at northern border - closest to Kyiv.

The Taman seems to be in the south, toward Donetsk.

The tactician in me says that the Northern force would be the decoy, to keep Ukrainian units pinned in place, while the southern units move to consolidate the Donetsk region.

I did say that this was a likely objective, when Ukraine hit the western press.

Many around here are totally disgusted that the Obama government slyly goes into these countries and foments the ousting of current governments. The Obama government sidles up to any dirtbags who will do their bidding to overthrow the current dirtbag, like the brotherhood, or Al Qaeda, to oust a leader, with no plans about how the outcome will be managed. They don’t even bother to back those people up if their foolish gambit fails and a guy like Putin calls their bluff. Those people in Ukraine are shit out of luck
.
So if people in Ukraine die, it won’t be because of FReepers, it will be because of who is running this country at the moment that nobody around here voted for. There really is nothing any American citizen or FReeper can do about it.

This has happened all over the middle east and we can only guess where it happens next.

4th Kantemirov was one of the units slated for upgrade to “western” standards. Long way to move from Leningrad, though.

Tula would be the more obvious choice.

I’m sorry, it’s no longer “leniingrad”. I should have said St. Petersburg.

Ya need to see more of their posts from pro-Putin Russian propaganda sites, then. You need to see them saying how “smart” he is, and how tough he is. They do get gushy and sound like smitten teenagers. Never do they note that the victims are not deserving of Putin’s aggression. Never do they note that Putin has enriched himself off of the Russian people to the tune of $75 billion. These FReepers embarrass this site. They pretend that Putin wasn’t in the KGB for 14 years when the Berlin Wall fell. They ignore that Putin was on the side of the Gulag when Lech, Reagan, Thatcher, and the Pope pushed back against the Soviets. They act like Putin is just some alternative to Obama.

Obama looks like a woman because he is an effete mom jean-wearing limp-wristed girlie man, not because of Putin.

That having been said, this whole episode is like the scene in Team America, World Police, where Hans Blix tells Kim Jong Il "Or else." and Kim responds, "Or else, what?".

Bad guys can smell weakness and don't hesitate to challenge it.

Putin’s dad was in the Secret Police and so was he. He’s much more in common with the NAZIS than the innocent Ukrainians again being mistreated by the Soviet/Putinistas.

BINGO...

Putin called Obama’s bluff in Syria, and saw how fast The Gay Media Messiah went running away, and how fast the US Media “forgot” that it ever happened.

Now, Obama and the NGO’s have destabilized Ukraine as well, and Putin is again going to call Obama’s bluff.

Obama has set the conditions for Putin’s movements, that is one thing that cannot be denied. From a strictly Machiavellian view, Putin would be stupid to not move on the advantage, while he has it.

“Rules for Radicals” doesn’t cover this, but Machiavelli’s “The Prince”, does.

I see you support the Nazi power grab in the Ukraine. FReepers don’t support the Nazi so why are you here?

I truly do not think FReepers are cheering on Putin.

Take a look at the comment (#11) below yours (#9).

Putin is smarter than Obama. The EU is a failure and so is the US under Obama. Why? Because Putin has been given a gift from Obama and the EU. What is that gift? Ignorance and cluelessness and failure. You don’t want Putin to win? Get rid of them. Many people in Europe did not want the EU, it was forced on them. I want the US to win and that is not going to happen while we are under this ridiculous “Global Community” farce that is being peddled to us daily.

Other than that, we are powerless until we reject these idiots running things right now.

“They act like Putin is just some alternative to Obama.”

No we don’t. Most of us understand exactly who and what Putin is. And we also don’t have a personal stake in the outcome, which allows many of us to see things for what they are, instead of how someone might like it to be.

We understand that Obama, the Soros Cabal, and the US Media all bear responsibility for these events. We, for years, have tried to say that a weak US President will invite the bad actors of the world, to do actual bad things, only to be called names and marginalized for doing so.

Your error is the emotional attachment you are showing. For you, it’s seems to be personal.

Given Belarus is a satellite of Russia would they grant Putin access rights for the Red Army? There is a highway that runs from the Belarus city of Honyel right close to the Russian border straight south 263 KM to Kiev.
