yank the guy and get a retired senior Dem (possibly even Harkin) to step in to save the seat. Isn't this Harkin's seat that they are running for? Do you think they would try to get Harkin to rescind his retirement and file to run again, if there is still time?

They had Disney reanimate Lautenberg, so why not drag Harkin back?
As to whether it’s too late, that rests in the hands of whatever Federal Judge they turn to.

The filing deadline for all Iowa political offices is past. Unless he dies or withdraws he is their nominee. They are stuck with him.
