The current situation:

The great mass of Catholic bishops in America sits, like a great, inert blob--while a leading Cardinal, Wuerl, makes repeated, lying statements about the moral law and Canon Law, pretending to have the authority to punish priests who obey Canon Law and the moral law.

And what is the PURPOSE of all these lies? To ensure that Nancy Pelosi, and other "ardent Catholics" like her, may continue to march up the aisle and make sacrilegious, scandalous Communions.

How many bishops in the U.S. actually worship God, rather than Nancy Pelosi? Perhaps a dozen.

What can awaken this great, inert blob to its DUTY? Well, in the case of sexual abuse, $2 billion-worth of lawsuits did wonders. But that doesn't seem to be a tool available to pro-life laity.

This situation makes more sense once you understand that bishops in the U.S. are effectively political office-holders, not religious leaders. This is why they are as feckless and useless as your typical member of Congress when it comes to governance.

Anyone who looks to a bishop for leadership is in for a lot of disappointment.
