Christians to EU: Israel is Our Safe Haven
Israel Today ^ | March 24, 2014 | Ryan Jones

Posted on 03/25/2014 5:48:08 AM PDT by SJackson

Some 150 Israeli Arabic-speaking Christians on Sunday demonstrated outside the European Union mission in Tel Aviv, demanding that the international community stop nitpicking against Israel and start combatting the severe persecution of Christians everywhere else in the Middle East.

“Nations, organizations and international missions are quick to raise an accusing finger against Israel at every opportunity,” said Father Gabriel Nadaf, spiritual father of the Israeli Christian Recruitment Forum, which organized the rally.

Those same nations and organizations “don’t life a finger against the ethnic cleansing of Christians in the Middle East,” the priest continued.

Father Nadaf went on to explain that from Syria to Egypt to Iraq to the Palestinian Authority, Christians on a daily basis suffer intimidation, harassment, desecration, coercion, torture, rape, physical abuse and murder. “According to the statistics, a Christian is murdered every five minutes [in the Middle East], and the Western world is silent about this,” he lamented.

In messages posted to its Facebook page during the Tel Aviv rally, the Israeli Christian Recruitment Forum insisted that “there is no place but Israel that is safe for Christians in the Middle East!”

While the rally was largely ignored by the mainstream Western media, the Israeli press took great interest, and forum spokesman Shadi Khalloul, a veteran of the IDF, was interviewed by various television and print media outlets.

Khalloul has spoken numerous times with Israel Today regarding the Christian awakening within Israel, and the bonds of brotherhood than bind local Christians to the Jewish people and the Jewish state.

Last month, Israel’s Knesset took the first important step toward recognizing local Christians as an independent minority separate from the Arab Muslims. Both Nadaf and Khalloul say this is necessary, since local Christians were here before the Arab Muslim conquest around 600 AD.

A growing number of Israelis, including lawmakers and opinion shapers, are likewise waking up to the strong Christian minority in their midst, a minority that has been long neglected, but which is now beginning to boldly take its place alongside the Jews.

Given that I have about 15 Coptic Christians from Eqypt (we had a little mission creep) living in my house, I think this is pretty well known.

They are soon to be residents of Scottsdale AZ, if anyone needs a couple of pediatricians.

Not many people can say that!

Christian arabs just became their own minority group in Israel -— demanding separation from their muslim tribesmen.

They not only want to be in the military (which they can be, voluntarily), but they want to be subject to the draft, like the Druze.

I’m game. A mitzvah as Jews is to accept guests into Israel and treat them fairly.

They are all eating kosher, however, because that is how my mom knows how to cook.

I never thought about it before but Israel should allow in so many vetted Arab Christians until they reach 30-40%. Israel can use the increasing population numbers.

The Arab Christian have no means of defending themselves against the Muslim Jihad. They live as dhimmis. They are at the the Muslims mercy. Get them into Israel which has the weaponry to defend itself. Have them serve in the army and build good lives. They must understand that Israel will always be the Jewish State but allow them in to live as Israelis

There are already about one million Muslim Arab Israeli citizens. So why not a few million Arab Christian Israelis?

Europe is no longer Christian. It is a secular moral desert afraid of its Moslem subculture. They could not care less about the persecution and murders of Christians or Jews.

Here’s an idea: Every time a Christian group is persecuted in the Middle-east, Israel lets them immigrate and sets them up as a settlement in the West Bank.

” So why not a few million Arab Christian Israelis?”

Historically, it’s a different issue. The Christian arabs were replacement theologians and actual more anti-Israel than muslims (see Sirhan Sirhan).

The constant muslim persecution of the last 50 years has made the worm turn, but its really been in the last decade.

Due to being semi-brainwashed by living under an all pervasive Muslim culture many Arab Christians are Islamo-sympathetic and can veer towards being Islamo-Christians. Chalk it up to Stockholm syndrome etc. They can be anti-Semetic....absorbed from the Muslim culture

In the Middle East (greater Lebanon area) you have Muslim sects with Christian components such as the Druze and Alewites which show more Islam-Christian convergence

None the less I hope righteous Arab Christians can find a home in Israel to help Israel’s demographics. (I am Jewish BTW)

The Christian arabs were replacement theologians...

I know the Sirhan family fled in 1948 and has held grievances since then
When Arab Christians seek refuge in Israel this demolishes their ideas of Replacement. You must be in a superior position to replace a religion>>>>>>

Anyway Islam is the ultimate Replacement theology so its all relative.
And the Muslim sense of choseness is 100x what Jews have
