By current standards, Nero could have been considered a Christian.

This is a bit of a hobby horse with me.
Christendom dumped sexual purity on the ground long before “gay” as an issue nosed into its tent.
Adulterers can’t effectively urge purity on other adulterers. It’s the old beam and speck problem.
