From his positions on the Balkans in the 1990’s to his reaction to the mere fact that a Senate committee he sat on would let Orthodox Christians from Syria testify about the effects of the ongoing civil war there, everything about his behavior and policy prescriptions vis-a-vis regions with large Orthodox populations points to this conclusion.
