I don't see a single hangar on the property, however -- nothing to stash the plane in and hide it from view.

You could try camouflage netting. The following image is ripped off a .pk site:

48 feet of road bed width is what is needed.

If 48 feet of road bed is all that's needed, for how long does the mountain road bed need to be straight and somewhat level for the 777 to safely land on it? Are any special accommodations required for the airplane's wings on the mountain landing strip you propose?

48 feet of road bed width is what is needed.

And a roadbed thick enough to handle 160-plus tons of aircraft landing on it at over 100 miles per hour.

Uighur

Quiet, Jack!

The MSM hasn't told the Murkin People about those Uighurs yet.(Perhaps because it sounds too much like "Wiggers," those white utes who carry on as if they were black utes?)

Imagine that, our favorite Wal-Mart suppliers having trouble with Muslim extremist terrorists. Gotta keep that quiet, wouldn't want news about those nasty jihadist Uighurs slowing down Huffy Bike production.

I guess you read Comment #494 of another thread.
Now with Gen. McInerney's comments on Hannity's Mar 21 show, take a look at this research I did, and all the links.
It took quite a bit of time to put it together.

Gen. McInerney on the phone with Uma Pemmaraju on America's News HQ at 12:06 Central Time, said he thought the Pakistan Air Force had helped MH370 get into Pakistani Air Space.

Any word from the posters here who intimidated and insulted with irrelevant trivia from the general's resume any skeptical poster?

The mountain plateaus of Pakistan and Afghanistan are similar to Edwards AFB, or even stronger in many cases.

Our own military land on unprepared surfaces there.

You need to wake up and recognize that our military are using unprepared surfaces there.

The difficulties are in your imagination.

Gen McInerney is a topnotch general. I served with him years ago and he’s one of the finest general officers I have ever known. If he says something you can take it to the bank.
A Wesley Clark he’s not.

He may have been a good General at one time but he’s gone off the deep end.

If that plane was in Pakistan with 152 Chinese citizens aboard a Chinese armada would be off the coast of Pakistan demanding its citizens back.

It’s long past time for him to retire to his rocking chair.

Getting testy are we? What type airplanes are our military operating from unprepared bush strips in the Paki mountains? A 777 is not an Osprey, helo, C-130, or C-17.

The difficulties are in your imagination.

Perhaps I haven't watched enough James Bond movies to be capable of imagining a 777 landing on some bush strip in the Hindu-Kush, being surrounded by tribesmen who quickly cover it with a camo tarp (A true SPECTRE operation would have a purpose built cave to hide the plane in), deplane the passengers, service and fuel the plane.

How high is the tail of a 777? How would you propose that tribesmen get such tarp over the tail?

Not with commercial 777s they don't. And not even with C-17s or C-5s.

Perhaps you fail to realize that the terrain there is substantially similar to Edwards AFB.

It’s not “Bush”

Why don’t you go help the Chinese dump the old aircraft debris in the Indian ocean so it can be “found.”

Vivid imagination!

What if they’re not stupid enough to waste their time covering anything?
.

The sNooze media are doing the covering for them. Muzzies can do no wrong, you are profiling.

I dunno. But I wouldn't underestimate them.

Plus, it would do to cover most of the airplane. If the tail were left sticking up, it would do little to improve visibility from above.

I actually expected that you would come back citing Edwards AFB after realizing the 48 foot wide gravel bush strip you originally envisaged for your 007 scenario was preposterous.

It’s not “Bush”

LOL! Then why did you start off by saying it was a 48 foot wide strip? http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3136472/posts?q=1&;page=151

Why don’t you go help the Chinese dump the old aircraft debris in the Indian ocean so it can be “found.”

Still testy are we?
