The eight year old girl may never get over it, because she was the most aware of being violated and disregarded. Once in a while, you hear about a child doing some horribly violent act to their parents. Sometimes this is the real background story,(Lanza?) but the child may not be ready to admit to themselves or to anyone what happened repeatedly.
Such wounds are difficult, but not impossible to overcome. I hope she goes somewhere that she can learn about the Lord who stands against such abominations.
I agree...she won’t get over it. Although she might go on to have a productive and mostly happy life but it will always be there....in her nightmares.
