Lowering cigarette taxes seems to be increasing sales for New Hampshire.

The government is not trying to stop illegal acts performed by criminals.
The government is trying to control everyday acts performed by innocent citizens.

57% of Cigarettes Sold in New York Are Smuggled As John McCain once said: "Make it 100(%)!"

This was predictable by anyone with brain. Didn’t prohibition teach us anything?

They could generate more revenue from a lower tax rate, but that would be against their religion.

So, how much does a pack of smuggled cigarettes compare to the current price of legal cigarettes?

I drive to PA for cigarettes and ammo. cigarettes are half the price of NY ammo has no background check/listing of suitable weapons and it’s 40 minutes away.
Sure, Princess Andy, I may live in NY, I shop in PA and Delaware. I pay almost zero in NY sales taxes...and there are more NY plates in PA and Delaware shopping malls than locals.

Totally proves that “legalizing” marijuana will eradicate all criminal activity that comes with marijuana. Just look at how taxing tobacco has solved all criminal activity stemming from it.

How unexpected? Real people go out of their way to dodge onerous taxes? It doesn't surprise me, but clueless liberals are stunned. Even after the truth comes out, they still remain clueless. The scofflaws aren't cooperating and they are disobeying their law and avoiding paying the tax! Oh, the horror...the horror.

In the 1970's when my sales territory was all the states East of the Mississippi I would visit North Carolina before going to NY and NJ and fill a suitcase with smokes and pull in an extra $200 per trip.
Probably pull in a grand or more at today's prices.
