Eric Holder: DOJ Rejects Ted Cruz's Request for Special Prosecutor in IRS Scandal

The Holder Department of Justice (DOJ) rejected a request from Texas Senator Ted Cruz to appoint a special prosecutor for the investigation into the IRS scandal in a letter released this week. The DOJ argued that it saw no apparent conflict of interest with its current investigator Barbara Bosserman—who has contributed thousands of dollars to Obama and other Democrats according to recent Breitbart News reports.

Despite the DOJ's denial of his request, the junior Texas Senator's office said it will not give up the fight to hold the Obama Administration accountable. A Cruz spokesperson told Breitbart Texas, "We will certainly push back...This is an issue that Cruz remains committed to."

In response to the DOJ's denial of his request, Cruz said in a statement, "It is the height of hypocrisy for the Obama Administration to claim that the investigator leading the investigation into the IRS's illegal program has no conflict of interest. The investigator is a partisan Democrat who has donated over six thousand dollars to President Obama and Democrat causes… Nobody should trust a partisan Obama donor to investigate the IRS's political targeting of President Obama's enemies."

Cruz sent his initial request to Attorney General Eric Holder on January 22. He wrote in a letter, "It strains credulity to say that, out of the over 114,000 employees of the Department of Justice, the only possible choice to lead the investigation was a major

But Jeff Sessions said when he approved Holder as AG: 'he was sure that Mr. Holder would be “a responsible legal officer and not a politician.”

In a just society, Holder would be led to the Gallows.

Of course Holder can do that—he sits at the right hand of bammy, don’ cha know—and he can do whatever the heck he wants to——until someone or some group grows some brass ones big enough to do something about it!

Liberty requires integrity among men.

No matter how well laws are written, they must be faithfully executed by men.

This is why Christian valued cultures became free, and Islamic valued cultures never will.

When a nation rejects its values, that nation moves towards the consequences of its new values.

Secular states typically develop a soulless, all powerful, self interested government.

Maybe. But what the Romans did to St. Peter might also be appropriate - crucifying him upside down.

Leagal schmegal. He does as it pleases his Boss; and will continue so long as Congress responds with press releases and sternly worded letters.

Why doesn’t the House appoint it’s own Special Prosecutor?

Why doesn’t the House send its Sergeant of Arms over to Justice and arrest Holder? They have the authority.

Why doesn’t the House stop funding the Department of Justice? They have the authority.

Why doesn’t the House pass a Vote of No Confidence, followed by Articles of Impeachment?

There are almost 9 months until November. The House can at least do the first item immediately and put the rest in process for December. Even if the Republicans don’t have both houses of congress in December, these things are worth doing ... necessary to the survival of our republic. And if we win the Senate, then impeachment/trial/removal from office are possible.

Well, I’ll have to give him this - “politics” is not Holder’s primary motivation.

“Gettin’ YT” is his primary motivation.

Holder is Barry’s boy. He’ll never investigate any of Barry’s smidgeons.

Some hyperbole?

Our forefathers would have started the revolution years ago and be sitting around in pubs telling tales.

Legal Smeagal... who cares? With all the lawless shite this WhiteyHut Africanized Gubmit is doing, why would anyone realistically expect them to what is right?

Force is the only thing they will understand.

Cruz was just making a good rhetorical campaign point. He knew they would never comply.

And our Nation’s values were rejected roundly by the voters in 2008 and 2012. We have gone from the land of the free and home of the brave to the land of the Governmental slave and home of the gimmie.

But, but Darrel Issa has also written a strongly worded letter-”Harrumph, Harrumph, Harrumph!”—boilerplate #294.
Obama has called Tea Party members “extremists” (along with Reid and all his echo chambers), so it is likely Bosserman will resort to form and now investigate Cruz for “hate speech”. And violating equal employment laws. (Per the IRS, describing this law school professor as a “career employee.)
The investigation of IRS wrongdoing will go nowhere. In fact they’re preparing more action against the “enemy” (you and me).
We’ve become a banana republic under these people.

Seems to me congress should have an additional avenue to get to the bottom of things if the executive branch refuses to follow the law.

Anyone know what this might be? This is insane.
