Sometimes I think having school uniforms isn’t such a bad idea.
It’s not just a style issue.
Leggings? Yoga Pants? Distracting?

When I was a youngster in school, we had Hot Pants and Mini Skirts. Now THAT was distracting.
But in a totally cool way.

I have a middle school daughter also and have no idea what the term “leggings” means. But, whatever, we only let her dress in modest clothing.
When my oldest son was in 9th grade, for some reason I had to go to his High School, I can’t remember why. I clearly DO remember what the young “ladies” at his school were wearing. Or better, NOT wearing. I thought “Stay away from my boy, you harlots!” And I do not consider myself a prude by any means.
I don’t know how you expect male high school teachers to keep their hands off when they have to look at that every day. Sorry, but that’s just how it is. Too many girls dress like street corner whores.
Every sane school has some kind of dress code or standards for students. At least since parents stopped having the common sense to know what their daughters should not wear.
Leggings are not appropriate school attire for grades K-12. Probably not for college, either, but certainly not for younger girls. I wonder how the mothers would feel if ALL the kids, boys included, wore skin-tight stretch pants that show every bulge.

Leggings? If they are worn as pants, then yes that is as stupid as walking in with just your underwear.
Yoga pants are made for doing Yoga. Have some respect for yourself, girls!
Nothing works except banning girls themselves if you’re trying to avoid distracting a teenage boy. And that’s not going to help that much anyway, given TV, the Internet, and video games.
There were 3 girls in my high school class (class of 65) who were, well they were about as pretty as a girl gets.
They dressed conservatively just like everyone else. They were still distracting. Extremely so.

Whenever I hear the phrase “because that’s the style,” I have a good laugh. So if the style is having various parts of your anatomy exposed, that makes it valid? How about having dead animals on top of your head ala Johnny Depp in the Lone Ranger movie? Would that be alright if a lot of people did it? “Because that’s the style” is an illogical argument.
So - ban leggings and yoga pants because it is distracting for boys... but use Planned Parenthood developed sex-promoting (errr... sex ed) materials... makes so much sense...

Boys are going to be distracted by girls no matter what they wear.
Let's tell the truth here...Leggings and Yoga pants are too distracting to teachers and administrators.
They are banned because you can read lips. Not a good look on young or old.
