Fashion designer L'Wren Scott was found dead today in her Manhattan apartment of an apparent suicide, according to New York police. She was 47 years old.
According to authorities, police were called to her Chelsea apartment at 10:05 a.m. and found her body. A medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
Scott was a renowned stylist and fashion designer whose clothes have been worn by A-listers including Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie and Penelope Cruz. In February, she announced that she had canceled her London Fashion Week show.

Her body, discovered hanging from a scarf tied to a doorknob in her apartment on 11th Avenue, was found by assistant after she received a text from Scott asking her to come over.
Scott also launched her fashion brand in 2006. Sarah Jessica Parker, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman have all worn her gowns to the Academy Awards, while other high-profile names such as Reese Witherspoon, Christina Hendricks, Sandra Bullock and even First Lady Michelle Obama have been seen wearing her designs.
In February, she announced she had canceled her London Fashion Week show.

I don’t know the name, but it’s sad when anyone does this. I wonder what spawned the sense of hopelessness that led to it.

The designer had been especially busy of late too. At the end of last year, she designed a holiday collection for Banana Republic – but last month she shocked the fashion set when she cancelled her London Fashion Week show at short notice. The designer blamed production delays in key show and couture pieces, according to WWD.

What hell her internal life must have been. Poor woman.
