Our administration wants to loan money to Ukraine that they can never pay back to pay for Russian oil and gas. And sanctions are going to do what, if Russia raises the price of Ukraine oil in response?
Ukraine owes it all to the Russian gas company. Will they pay it?
Time for a great big, “no you are not, Obama”.
Or will people act tough only to fold?
All that money will ultimately wind up in Putin’s hands.
They should go ahead and make the check directly out to Vlad Putin.
That’s where it’ll wind up anyway.
If America was smart, they would borrow $1 Trillion from the Chinese, and give it to Ukraine (no strings attached). This will show the Ukrainians how much we love them.
The IMF loan to Ukraine should be a clean bill.
Why should the US share of funding increase while at the same time developing countries get a greater voice in the IMF. In the real world, that is the world outside of DC, if you invest more, you get a greater say in the management of the enterprise in which you are investing.
Congress needs to demand a clean bill
Just like the WH demanded a clean debt ceiling bill
There wasn’t a peep of protest, when the IMF was used to give big bucks to the so-called Palestinians a few years ago.
We need to build missile bases for Ukrainians—a good project after 2016 or sooner.
Do they have to play politics with everything? I thought this Ukraine thing was really important? I guess it wasn’t important enough to get its own bill.
