It boils down to a centralized versus a de-centralized approach. Collectivists always opt for the centralized solution. I’m looking forward to the day when each home can install and use a device to generate its own electrical power that provides all the energy a family would need, without relying on a “grid.”

I’m waiting for the day (that might come) when you paint 3 or 4 layers of “paint” on your roof and generate your own solar power.

Just walk into any Home Depot and pick up a few buckets of solar power in a DIY kit.

That ability exists but is expensive.

Natural gas powered generators would do nicely

ditto nuclear packages
