So they had radar or some other means to navigate to find other planes?

If CNN can ramble with possible theories, and people can even talk about UFO’s, terrorism, missiles...then how about this theory:

Maybe its not radar we should be concerned with...its “gaydar”. Take a look at some of the photos of the pilot. He’s got that look. He recently divorced his wife, and just attended the trial of an opposition leader convicted of homosexuality. We’re they lovers?

Yep-total speculation. I guess that qualifies me for CNN now.

They have collision avoidance and weather systems but I can’t talk to the capabilities of detecting planes with these systems.

Got a bad feeling about this. Like, that plane is parked somewhere, waiting.

I don’t find the simulator strange because there was a ship simulator where I did duty, it was used for readiness training, maybe not needed now with so much technology. A lot of Reserve Units would use it on the weekend.

But why no communication with the ground? And is it possible to detonate a bomb inside a closed, pressurized space without causing major damage to the aircraft?

I also have a bad feeling. If you add two Iranians traveling on false passports and add in the potential for a flying delivery system for a nuke it makes me watch the capital very carefully. If high ranking members of the government start changing plans and avoiding the city it means we have a real threat.

Rummy

Where is the First Lady ? Anywhere near this event? I know she was going to or went to Africa, did she head there about the time of this event?

Just wondering.

Passengers are dead. Killed by taking the plane up to 4500 ft.

Just need to find what country has the place before it comes back to us as a WMD.

Passengers probably never had a chance. Night flight, many would have been sleeping. Killed by lack of oxygen.

just ignore my last ping - I see now the radar system was old and most likely it did not reach 45k. :)

Agree. Reports/Interpol says the 2 Iranians with false passports had no links to terror groups and were seeking asylum in Europe. Right. And I have a bridge to sell.

Seeking asylum in Europe, by way of China? My BS alarm is going off.

Yes and if you look at the early reporting they said 5 people had there luggage removed as they didn’t board the plane. They denied this later but they also denied the radar tracked the plane making a turn. Time will tell.

It might be good for glide duration, but not for fuel consumption... oxygen that is needed for combustion starts getting kinda scarce up that high, density drops and there isn’t as much lift.. everything has to work harder to stay flying as you get higher

Not only that....but the flight control envelope for stable flight is compressed.....meaning that it's difficult to maintain controllable flight at 45K ft.....this is one of the reasons given for the airliner crash on route from Brazil when flying through a storm a couple of years ago.
