A delegation of U.S. senators looked to up pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin Saturday, as tensions around Ukraine heightened.
A bipartisan group of eight senators traveling through Ukraine blasted the Russian leader, and called Sundays election on whether Crimea should join Russia rigged and illegitimate. Some of the senators called for the U.S. to provide military equipment to Ukrainian troops, and the group vowed crippling economic sanctions against Russia until the nation pulled back.
This is the person that stated that the greatest catastrophe of the 20th century was the breakup of the Soviet Union, said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) of Putin. We have to treat him for what he is. That does not reignite the Cold War, but it means we enact steps that make it clear
that his ambitions will not be realized by the great community of nations that would resist him.

It’s embarrassing to see American officials actually trying to intimidate Putin. Our foreign policy is an embarrassment.
Putin would respond to them, if he could just stop laughing.
“A bipartisan group of eight senators traveling through Ukraine blasted the Russian leader, and called Sundays election on whether Crimea should join Russia rigged and illegitimate.”
Hawaii says Aloha!
Ouch!
McCain should have been let out to pasture years ago.
Let’s think this through. How do we get into space? Oh, we hitch a ride with the Russians. How do we supply our troops in Afghanistan? Oh, we rely on transiting Russian owned and controlled territory...How much pressure are we going to exert before the pressure us back?
Why shouldn't they at least try? Putin is obviously unafraid of Obama, so perhaps the Legislative branch can at least do a little good. The more they ratchet up the pressure, the more Obama is, perhaps, boxed in to raising the stakes himself.

Because THAT’S what the situation called for?
They should have thought about that before canceling the F22 and praising nuclear reduction along with screwing veterans and using food stamps for votes... oh, and Obama is not American in my book.
Putin plays the Great Game, he could care less about US investments and Bush Jr propane truck for Africans.
How do they say in Albanian “Good Luck”
No. Empty threats are worse than nothing.
We have no foreign policy; its all ad hoc.
Absolutely right! You have to say what you mean, and mean what you say.
Obama’s words are hollow and everyone around the globe knows it.
Our foreign policy is now all about coddling Muslims and Gays.
That's bull sh*t.
The Senators who could not stop the Black Panther invasion and intimidation at our poll booths call out the Russian invasion... right.
In other news...
Isikov Matyurtkian, the mayor of Vladivostok, Russia, is in Detroit, Michigan with several other Russian delegates, demanding that the United States open several Wal-Mart grocery stores because many neighborhoods are considered to be “food deserts”.
Probably has him shaking in his shoes. This man is so many moves ahead of the mom-jean wearer and the vietnam vet that they’re going to be disgraced.
We stopped being a serious country and culture and society a long time ago. We will suffer.
It will be deserved.
Bipartisan means US voters not a concern, just the party mafyas.
Talk about a dichotomy! You couldn’t find two more opposing groups. No wonder nobody takes us seriously.
