The American Humanist Association filed a lawsuit last week in federal court in Maryland calling for the removal of Bladensburg’s 40-foot Memorial Peace Cross, which honors men from Prince George’s County who died during World War I.
The association and three individual plaintiffs contend that the cross, which is on state property, violates the constitutional principle of separation of church and state. The cross was dedicated in 1925.
...One of the individual plaintiffs, Steven Lowe of Washington, contends that the cross "associates a Christian religious symbol with the state and gives the impression that the state supports and approves of Christianity, as opposed to other religions," the suit says.

Oh, yes, I have been there. Lovely monument. Early in its history Maryland was dedicated to freedom of religion.
The Toleration Act was passed in 1649 at St. Mary’s City:

Now, it is reasonable for you to insist that there be support for this claim, and I would not be the least offended at you for asking, nor would I fail to provide some, here.
My claim that Jesus is not dead is that same truth-claim made by the early gospel writers, and by unknown thousands of adherents to the Christian faith these past 20 centuries. In support of that historic claim I affirm that I have personally and thoroughly vetted the claim for myself, and experientially determined that it is, in fact, true. I have lived the life of Christian faith for more than 30 years, and in that time my compiled personal experiences have conclusively demonstrated to me that there truly exists an unseen, yet evident, living, vibrant Personality Who answers to the name “Jesus,” Who interacts in a relational fashion with mortal man, and Who has the demonstrated capability to do everything in this present day that He did during his ministry on Earth incarnate as a man among men.
The difficulty for you is just this: knowing it is all true comes AFTER — and ONLY after — believing it is all true. Only AFTER the investment of faith in the truth of what you have been told can you begin to experience for yourself that it really is true. But that investment of faith is only difficult if you resist doing it. And if you are resistant, then I assert that you must present a more compelling rationale for resisting faith (against the threat of...what, exactly?) than I, and countless others, have presented in favor of embracing faith.
So. Here, now, without pretension or pomposity; bearing you only goodwill and hope for a glimmer of revelation; I leave you to your own devices concerning what I have written. I pray you consider faith well, for I know that — once you ascribe to it — you will find it worthwhile.

Let’s look at the money trail. Who pays for their lawyers, offices, travel expenses, etc?
For once the IRS could actually do an useful investigation of our internal enemies.
Here in San Diego, the fight over the Mt Solidad cross is paid by the people of San Diego. We have been in a continuous fight for decades and some lawyer got it through the city council to pay both sides. It has been a real cash cow for the ambulance chasers.
Virginia was probably named after Elizabeth I, the so-called Virgin Queen.
Faith is evidence of nothing. Faith go’s hand in hand with ignorance.
