Global warming has been a net benefit worldwide (in the scientific studies they don’t tell you about) and will continue to be so in countries like Canada and Russia. It is unlikely that temperatures will go beyond the beneficial stage since they are rising very slowly and subject to external factors like solar activity.
I’ve seen some worrying about whether melting permafrost would jack up temperatures far more due to methane. I am skeptical about that, as methane is also yummies for certain soil bacteria. The methane that gets left in the atmosphere may be much less than what gets liberated by melting permafrost.
