Police: 3 Arrested For Burnet Kidnapping That Lasted 1 Year (TX)

Burnet police say after a two-month investigation they've arrested three people involved in the year-long kidnapping of an adult woman.

Police say Charlotte Elaine Arms (pictured left), 45, Thomas Allon Simon (pictured right), 31, and Walker Wayne Shapland, 24, have been arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a family member, both first degree felonies, and aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury on a family member, a second degree felony.

The affidavit says Schaller was once punished by being forced to have sex with her husband, Thomas Simon, in front of everyone in the household. Simon has also been arrested for aggravated assault after admitting to police he punched his wife during a fight prior to her death.

Arrest warrant affidavits say that Schaller had an inch-deep stab wound under her left breast. Two-thirds of her face had been burned. She had broken ribs in various stages of healing. Both of her ear lobes had been sliced. The document goes on to say that of the eight adults and six children in the house when Schaller died, none of them seemed to care and went about their business of doing chores.

WHAT????

this is one of the most confusing stories I've ever read.

Was her sister also Simon's wife or did two women die 'on the couch' = and just how did the detectives 'come across the victim" when the other one/ones died on the couch.

Maybe my brain isn't working...
