Oil rig worker says he saw missing plane go down: report

ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff has obtained a letter that an oil rig worker in Vietnam wrote to his employer claiming he saw Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 go down in flames.

Mr. Woodruff tweeted an image of the letter saying,

Yeah, jet A is so volatile. If the tank was so hot and fumes were rising would there be any oxygen left in the tank to have an explosion with? I would think that rising fumes would vent out any oxygen in the tank. I’m not going to argue much over this. It was an obvious cover up from the get go and it was painful to watch the media comply. It is over and I hope to heck they never bring out poor James Kalstrom again.

From your CNN Video report . . .ff 00:55 to hear reporter suggest this site roughly coincides with the location provided by the oil rig worker.

If nothing else, though no missing airline answers, I’m getting quite a geography education. Before yesterday, if asked, I would have said Diego Garcia was in the Pacific Ocean. Little did I know it was hidden under the giant “D” in “Indian Ocean” on my 6ft x 5ft Rand McNally Wall map. Strait of Malacca — wouldn’t have been able to ring my buzzer on that one either.

Wiring does wear in a plane, especially in one as old as 800. It doesn’t stand to reason that the government would want to cover up a foreign terrorist attack and if it was done by one of our ships, I can’t see Clinton not throwing the military under the bus. After all, the costs are born by the taxpayer ultimately and how many government workers lose their jobs over a f up, however monumental? Either way, I’ve said my piece.

That marinetraffic.com doesn't seem to be well-maintained. E.g., I search it for Songa Mercur. It comes back with a link listed as a drilling rig. But when I click the link, I get a 404. Oops. Tried the link again, and now it comes back with a map dated 2013-02-18 showing the rig off Cuber at 22.84518 / -79.38331. Newer locations available but cost $$.

Sarcasm right? There were over 200 eye witness reports. Did you happen to watch the video the gov’t put together showing the plane sans front end actually climbing 3K feet while spewing flaming fuel.

I believe that they only said they heard the phones ringing. I did not see any reports of phones being ‘picked up’.

I don’t know where to start. You should do some serious research on TWA 800.

Unreliable witnesses? Like the 2 Vietnam veteran NG helicopter pilots in the air a few miles from TWO 800. Tey knew what SAMs and Manpads looked like.

The government tried to discredit witnesses by firing a Manpad on a day that was considerably more hazy than the night of the shoot down. Some witnesses observed the test from where they watched TWA 800 and stated the test fire looked identical to what they saw.

The wiring in the center fuel tank is mili-volts. You could scrape the wires and try to arc them all day and you would not be able to get Kerosene or Kerosene vapor to ignite.

There’s much, much more, but if you are curious , that should get you going. The TWA 800 on Netflix is good for an overview but lack many details, probably due to the constrains of making it a watchable length.

The air guard pilots asked if it was pyro. No mention of a missile. The East Wind pilot headed towards 800 said that it looked like his landing lights were on. (possibly he saw flames) he stated that when he turn on his landing lights is when 800 blew up. He was in an even better position as he was heading directly towards 800 at almost the same flight level.

Fuel tanks are vented. Military birds have either fuel suppression foam in the fuel tanks or a nitrogen inerting system. It sucks to go into the foam tanks.

Regarding TWA Flight 800. How many airline crashes has the FBI took the lead on? I can’t think of any. If they thought that it was a fuel cell that caught fire why did they continue to be the lead agency? Why did they not let the NTSB or whatever agency would have been in charge take over if there was nothing there from a terrorist standpoint?
