Doesn’t Jolly have to run this election all over again in November?
wow!
GOP gotta go right. Gotta get rid of those Libertarians. Deal with the Two Party System, FRiends. The best can be the enemy of the good and the friend of the worst.
I thought this was a lean dem district.
**Boner Alert***
Whew...David Jolly was not a very strong candidate whereas Sink was a recent statewide candidate.
This win is huge...not just holding the seat. That 1.9% prevented a wall-to-wall media onslaught about how Democrats were now squarely back in command, Obama and Obamacare are surging in popularity, etc.
Im sure Rubio and the neocons didn’t help. I believe there would be a lot of protest votes.

I had heard from Republican operatives that this seat was lost; I’m glad they were wrong. CNN was treating this election as a bellwether for Obamacare this morning, I believe in the expectation that Sink, who had a sizable lead in the polls, would win. Now that she lost, I bet it hardly gets a mention tomorrow, only as a longtime Republican district and without much reference to it being a test for Obamacare.
The Dims’ pet Libertarian could not pull it out for them, apparently.
Sink outspent the white guy 4 to 1 in a district that Obama won twice. And she had a big advantage being a victim in the “war on women”.
Sink (D) should have won this easily. Although it has been in Republican hands since the 80s, she has great name recognition that Jolly didn’t have. Also, Jolly had to go through a primary battle and spent lots of money early on. Sink didn’t have a primary opponent. Also, considering the changing demographics of the area, it should have been much easier for Sink. Obamacare and lousy campaigning did her in. Thank God. Too bad Jolly has to run again in November...
Also, if Ms Sink really wants to support Obamacare Democratcare within the framework of the Constitution then she needs to do the following. She needs to work with state and federal lawmakers to propose a healthcare amendment to the Constitution to the states for ratification. And if the Constitution's Article V state supermajority chooses to ratify her amendment, then Obamacare Democratcare will actually be constitutional and Sink will be a hero.
Sink is sunk!
I didn’t know much about this until I read up on it yesterday. I would agree—this is a huge win. If Sink had won, she looks like the type who would have held onto it for the next 20 or 30 years—at least until she decided to move up and run for Senator. Now the Republicans have a good chance to hold onto it over the long term. Shovel the famous Democrat candidate out of there!
This would be a huge win. Sink was predicted to win - led in every poll.
the next one is the congressional seat held by Tray Radel.I am hoping for Curt Clawson over that Buttafuccio candiate.
She probably would have won if she hadn’t kept smearing Jolly in her ads with false claims.
Fairy well?
