They got confirmation that Lerner isn’t going to talk about any higher-ups and are going to throw her to the sharks.
all the ones that exist after the scrubbing, that is.
“What’s this bag and this bottle of Elmer’s glue?”
“It’s Lois Lerner’s emails that you requested.”
“But, it looks like they’ve been shredded.”
“Well, yes, there is that. But it shouldn’t take you long to glue them back together.”
So full of possible wholes:
“All of Lois Lerner’s emails,” might be purposely taken narrowly to mean all that she initiated, or of Lois Lerner’s email she sent from x email address or y email address (she certainly could have had several different email addresses right on the IRS server and/or on another server, or she could have sent messages re IRS work from home and the messages would not show up on the IRS servers at all. Or the local IRS could have different server than the big IRS server. Or she could have sent them from an entirely different server. What about voice mail messages from work, home, other? Did they ask for paper memoes to and from Lois Lerner? Besides all this, those involved at the IRS have had a heck of a long time to look and sort, etc.

What about voice mail messages from work, home, other? Did they ask for all paper memoes to and from Lois Lerner? Did they interview the main receptionist and/or executive secretaries at the IRS where she works? Besides all this, those involved at the IRS have had a heck of a long time to look and sort, etc.
