One imagines that the reason the IRS has changed its tune and will now supply all the emails Congress requested eight months ago is that they’ve had the opportunity to go through them and have found nothing incriminating.
But the value of of examining all of Lois Lerner’s emails during the months in question has to do with the two-track approach to the IRS investigation that Republicans have initiated.
The first track is an examination of the targeting scandal and all the related issues associated with IRS actions. The second, and equally important, track, is getting to the bottom of how the IRS came up with its new set of regulations that govern what “political activity” is legal for 501(C)(4) organizations.

I won’t be holding my breath waiting for this. I imagine the IRS will be as cooperative in this “investigation” as the Justuce Department is.

You think maybe they’ve delayed long enough to write up a new bunch of nice little innocent- looking email notes maybe?

You’re right. They’ll eventually be released but “when” is the question. The administration will slow walk this over a long time frame so they have plenty of time to manage damage control.
Paper E-mails. Those e-mails remain on the hard drives.
Those are what they should go after. But, Bonehead will not appoint a select committee with a good prosecutor to investigate. There is where the problem is.
So it really takes this long to scrub them of all useful information.

They will not be handing over all those private email accounts she used to perform official and illegal IRS actions.
Yes! Ms. Jackson used fake email names and accts. to run her Dept. By the time she was found out, Holder just let it slide. This is buying time that WE mdon’t have.
When the Clinton’s used fake accts for emails and they were all under subpoena they delayed for several yrs. It was then declared MOOT.
It’s hard to get rid of everything. And there’s always information that can point you to other interesting things.
Let’s just hope their [GOP LEADERS] distaste for Obama and Reid and Co. are greater than their distaste for the Tea Party and things get rolling in our direction.
The IRS would NEVER do anything to hide evidence or protect one of their own. This agency is squeaky clean when it comes to being honest.
Surely after a year nothing has gone missing.
