Saturday European officials indicated two of the people on board were using passports that had been stolen in Thailand. On Sunday Malaysia’s transport minister, Hishammuddin Hussein, said Malaysian intelligence officials were also checking the identities of two other passengers, according to The Associated Press.

“All the four names are with me and have been given to our intelligence agencies,” Hishammuddin said, according to The AP. “We do not want to target only the four; we are investigating the whole passenger manifest. We are looking at all possibilities.”

"How could flying with a false identity with stolen passports NOT be foul play?"-catnipman

With this administration - it appears they have cast in cemented policy, no jihad related activity will be considered terrorism or terrorism related, as it must be god's will or an act of god. SPIT!

That picture alone is a candidacy killer.

I hope she runs.

It is not a "terrorist attack" unless someone takes "credit" for it. At this point nobody is bragging about their victory against the infidels, so I suspect that it was not a successful terrorist plot.

Perhaps it was a "center fuel tank" explosion?

That’s my theory.

You should write books.

Obviously the answer there would be to unionize them and pay three times what they are worth. Works so well for us.

I did read elsewhere that the airport security there is considered very good

Other than that little problem with 4 stolen passports getting through.

Why has there been no group claiming responsibility?

Because what they were after was on the plane.

Why is it impossible to think they landed it somewhere?
And that’s why no one can find anything.

“Other than that little problem with 4 stolen passports getting through.”

I’ve never traveled internationally so I have no idea how that works. Do they have a system for checking them? I read somewhere else (here, actually I think it was) that there is a big traffic in stolen passports over in that part of the world.

Maybe this happens frequently and we are not aware of it. Unless somebody gets arrested or something dreadful like this happens, how would you know?

Is a definite all the agencies and the Pacific Rim are on full alert. With either two or four fraudulent passports making it through security ... heightened alert is useless at this point regrettably ... God comfort the families. Prayers for the grieving and lost.

I find myself also thinking the same, until the recent posting which indicates fragments of plane have been located. Unless, the fragments were placed as a red herring.

Noted in a comment at a much earlier related FreeRepublic thread, the transponders on these planes were recently disabled and many of these planes are serviced in Malaysia:

"last year, Boeing directed operators of its various jets to replace Honeywell Emergency Locator Transponders on their aircraft. The models involved included the 777-200. A Honeywell transponder on a 787 owned by Ethiopian Airlines caught fire on the ground in London and heavily damaged the aircraft."

Malaysia Airlines Says Plane Had No History of Malfunction

Last Safety Inspection 10 Days Ago, Which Was Earlier Than required, It Says

Malaysia Airlines said its missing plane had its last safety inspection 10 days ago--earlier than required --and didn't have a history of malfunction. WSJ streaming updates

"...what is shocking also, imo, is the number of planes flying for domestic US airlines that have their maintenance performed in malaysia. http://mae.malaysiaairlines.co...

It is looking more and more like it came apart at 35,000 ft. Spreading out the debris field over a very large area.

That does look to be the party line coming out now. While Interpol and intelligence from six countries are there reviewing the tapes of who got on the plane, that is.

Off course, turning around, two stolen passports, four stolen passports, junk in the ocean, oil slicks, on an on. And the media claims that "they don't want to get into speculation...but..."

Just another day for the info-whores.
