The Department of Justice (DOJ) is preparing to announce an expansion of background checks based on executive orders president Obama issued in January 2013.
According to The Hill, the expansion consists of "three changes to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS)."

There are LOTS of liberal gun owners who are NOT going to like this.

The more he gets away with, the more he will push his unilateral law making. Congress is nothing more than a potted plant. Obama is steamrolling them without any resistance.
If a Republican president were to do anything like this, he/she would already have been impeached or forced to resign. The media would have gone brezerk over the abuse of power.
I am an NRA member but will never be a Life member to any organization. All organizations can lose their way, and the only way to keep them in check is to leave if need be.
Oh yeah, and Putin is totally like evil and stuff?
At least he manages to get approval from their congress.
