Who Else Besides Hillary Clinton in 2016?
New York Times ^ | 03/03/2013 | Albert Hunt

WASHINGTON — If Hillary Rodham Clinton doesn’t run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016 — and there’s one chance in five of that — the party could have a nervous breakdown.

On the national level, the Democratic bench is weaker, or more overshadowed, than at any time in the past several decades. There are several reasons. The election disaster in 2010 wiped out many possibilities, especially at the gubernatorial level. More important, with two heavyweight camps — President Obama and the Clintons — there is no political oxygen for anyone else.

Suppose, for example, that upon taking over as secretary of state, Mrs. Clinton had declared that she wouldn’t run for elective office again. The field might look much different today.

For one, several ambitious female Democrats might be dipping their toes in the presidential waters: for example, Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota or Kirsten E. Gillibrand of New York. Now, the Democratic political sisterhood is completely vested in Hillary Clinton.

This sense that America is overdue to elect a woman is powerful and extends even beyond its borders.

“I’m optimistic I’ll live to see a female president of the United States,” Julia Gillard, the former Australian prime minister, said in an interview last week.

If Mrs. Clinton doesn’t run, the focus will be on Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., who is 71 and personally popular with Democrats. But his two previous presidential runs crashed, and in 2016, he would be older than Ronald Reagan was when he was re-elected in 1984.

America doesn’t really need the significance of someone with a Vagina being elected President. We have already broached that glass ceiling with Obama.

I think Howard Dean ( The Scream ) is going to throw his hat in.

So will Fauxcahontas, Elizabeth Warren.

I’ve never understood why it would be significant, if the first woman president is there only because she is married to a president. Hillary Clinton has not achieved anything on her own. Feminist theory tells us that women should achieve on their own, and should not be doormats for cheating husbands, or husbands who mistreat them in other ways. Yet this is the person who may be the first woman president. If she is elected, it would only be because of her husband, and her having tolerated whatever her husband dished out over the years.

I’m afraid they’re going to push Corey Booker, horrible man with no real governing experience who goes wherever the strings pull him. But he’s black, sort of.

Remind you of anyone?

After Obama, the Dem party can never nominate another person who is not a minority. The base will want another Obama, and Hilary ain’t it.......................

I thought NY’s Andrew Cuomo was runner-up the hillary.

You heard it here first. Andrew Cuomo will be the dem candidate in 2016. Powerful democrat family, solidly liberal, big state, two term governor, carries on his fathers legacy. Mario wanted it, it never got it, son brings home the nomination.

Hillary has too much baggage, is too old and shows it, is unlikable, won’t appeal to the horny college girl voters and a lot of dems are tired of the Clinton’s. Didn’t we hear this same song in 2008 when she was younger and didn’t have a “what difference does it make” moment to play with. Her time is past. If her name wasn’t Clinton nobody would even be talking about her with her resume’. If Hillary is the nominee the war on women goes out the window and the dems can’t afford that. Rand Paul didn’t shoot the shot across the bow on a whim. That was a well aimed/planned warning to the democrats that you will not run a woman who was an enabler of a sexual predator and then play the WOW card against the GOP.

I believe Biden and Cuomo are on “the list”.
Both will be shredded by Hillary in the primaries.

Lizzy Warrren is certainly a possibility.

But remember the Chicago Mob hasn’t fully committed yet.
In December 2007 how many folks had ever heard the name Baraq Hussein Obama?

There’s a strong possibility that hillary is so sick that a campaign would disable her or do her in. I’m very concerned about who they slip in as VP nominee. Because if the ptb manage to force Jeb or another RINO on us, that dem VP will be our next President.

Screamin’ Howie Dean. The Democrats have moved to the left so rapidly in the past decade, he’s just about right for them now.

Hmmm... Cuomo, Warren , Dean, Hillary, Deval Patrick .... What geographical location in these United States do they all hail from?

Only in Lolmerica, where things that do not matter at all matter everything, would it be significant.

Cory Booker or DeVal Patrick are my likely Dem VP candidates.
With all the community organizers giving the folks in the ‘hood a “wink wink” about Hillary’s failing health.

The entitlement army votes Dem but they need a brotha to inspire them to get out to the polls.

Hillary doesn’t look too healthy these days. I wonder if she will just retire from politics, rather than run for pres at age 69, and if electedreelection at age 73.

Whoever it is will certainly be hideous, and quite possibly not based on resume, but on the ability to enrage conservatives (like BHO) because that has become the primary motivator for liberals.

So on that list, IMHO, will be Michelle Obama, and Chelsea Clinton. I’m serious.
