The cause of most of these cases is not known, health officials say. The average age of the children is 12.

Not climate change but possibly dirty stuff in food.
Illegal aliens coming across the border carrying all manner of disease.
The borders are OPEN and polio and newer diseases
are coming in, INCLUDING weaponized diseases from Iran.
The US Congress? Could not give a damn.
“Illegal aliens coming across the border carrying all manner of disease.”
Bingo! And it’s only going to get worse.
that or possibly bush
Thanks very much for posting. Health/life BUMP!
We have had Measles here and now Polio..I blame the illegal alien population here..what next..Typhus, black plague
Famous polio cause: dirty stuff in food. Spread the word.
Don’t know here what the cause is. Many good posts on this thread as to possibles.
But I went through all my school years with kids who wore legs braces because of Polio. That's not counting those kids that died or were too crippled to even attend school.
If this isn't Polio, I pray they find out what it is and find a vaccine quickly.
Sugar cube medicine. Even remember parents taking their sugar cube(s) too.
Seems there would be accompanying signs if that were the cause but as stated, I do not know the cause.
Which ones are those? I'm still waiting for the first good comment myself. Hint: Putting up a 50 foot fence along the border won't stop communicable disease infiltration as long as legal travel occurs across it. Plus, this particular disease isn't known south of the border either: it isn't polio.
Rare Polio-Like Syndrome Strikes Small Group of California Children
An estimated 25 California children have developed a syndrome with polio-like symptoms, with five confirmed casesthree in the San Francisco Bay Area.
A new report from the American Academy of Neurology shows that a cluster of children developed the mysterious illness, which can cause paralysis of one or more limbs.
Case report author Dr. Keith Van Haren, an instructor of Neurology at Stanford University School of Medicine, said there are numerous potential viruses that can affect the spine, but few have been reported in the U.S. in recent history.
In the past decade, newly identified strains of enterovirus have been linked to polio-like outbreaks among children in Asia and Australia, he said in a statement. These five new cases highlight the possibility of an emerging infectious polio-like syndrome in California.
Specially modified food shipped North? Shipping from outside via container ships? Specific toys? Too many possibles, imho. I do pray a handle on this outbreak is coming quickly.
