It looks like this is the new SOP now that cops are being recorded. If they can say they thought the person being brutalized was going for one of their guns, just about any response, including summary execution, is fair game. That's why they love shouting at the top of their lungs, "Stop Resisting!" Gives them an excuse to beat the "little person" to death. They know the panoramic range of their dashboard cams, so they usually get just out of that range so an observer can only hear what's going on.

What's pathetic about that video is: (1) I can almost guarantee that it's from Russia, and (2) it's probably not a police dash-cam.
It's common for civilian motorists Russia to mount dashboard cameras in their own vehicles because fraudulent accident and insurance claims are so rampant over there.

Does this corruption reach to the level of "smidgen"?
If only this Jeter played Major League Baseball, he might not be subjected to such treatment.

The police will probably not get off in this case. Bloomfield, NJ is in Essex County -- which means they are going to be lucky to get a jury that has fewer than 8-10 black women on it.
Ten bucks says they cop a plea, and since they don't have any leverage they aren't going to get much of a deal.

It wouldn’t be outlandish if it turns out this guy is related to Derek Jeter somehow. Jeter’s maternal grandparents lived in a town right across the river from Bloomfield. His grandfather was the custodian in a high school there for years.

Of note in the article...”an investigation by Bloomfield PD’s scandal plagued internal affairs division had found no wrongdoing by officers.”
Internal affairs needs to be investigated.

The era of Sheriff Andy Taylor and ADAM 12 is over. We are in the era of Cops Gone Wild. There are so many of these stories nowadays.

It could become popular here, with stuff like in this report going on.

I believe that Derek Jeter’s grandparents lived in New Milford, NJ about 20 miles from Bloomfield. The only towns across the river from New Milford would be Oradell or River Edge. Derek lived in Pequanock when he was born, even further away from Bloomfield.

To add, just a few miles down River Road from New Milford, on the other side of Teaneck, is Bogota. The town where Richie Incognito grew up, pre HS that is.
