WABC ^ | 2/21/2014 | Sarah Wallace

BLOOMFIELD, NJ (WABC) -- The tale of the police dashcam video has now helped clear a Bloomfield, New Jersey man who faced a multitude of criminal charges, including eluding police and assault.

Investigative Reporter Sarah Wallace obtained the dashcam tapes, and has spoken exclusively with the 30-year old DJ who was looking at years in prison.

It was quite a turnabout, all the criminal charges against Marcus Jeter have been dismissed, and two Bloomfield police officers have been indicted for falsifying reports, and one of them, for assault.

A third pleaded guilty early on to tampering. It's all thanks to those dashcam tapes. It's the video that prosecutors say they never saw when the pursued criminal charges against 30 year-old Marcus Jeter . In the video, his hands were in the air. He was charged with eluding police, resisting arrest and assault. One officer in the video can be seen throwing repeated punches.

Sarah Wallace: "It this tape hadn't surfaced?" Marcus: "I'd be in jail."

“two Bloomfield police officers have been indicted for falsifying reports, and one of them, for assault...”

I love a happy ending. Thugs, even with badges, are still thugs.

If you don’t believe that this Marxist regime would have no trouble in recruiting police to do their Stasi work for them you have been off this planet far too long.

It’s time to make review of dash cams a statutory requirement before prosecutors can file charges and that loss or absence of video that should be present (i.e. destruction of evidence) would require the dropping of all charges and an investigation of officers.

It's amazing how many of these cases have popped up ever since the Kenyan Marxist was unconstitutionally elected POTUS.

Yesterday they had a story of a cop car that side-swiped a parked car that had a guy sitting in the passenger seat. So the cops in order to make it look like it was the passengers fault, actually arrested him and blamed the accident on him. Until a video of it was found ha ha.

Cops hit my car, then arrested me: suit

There be video cameras all over taping da stupid.

It’s clear from viewing and listening to the video that one or more of these cops were looking for an opportunity to shoot the individual.

Oh, I almost forgot...at least the officers got home safely.

Prosecutors are all about ignoring exculpatory evidence.

Ignoring it would be bad enough, but they also bury it so the Defense can't find it. I think that's a prosecutable offense everywhere, but if the evidence is never found, nobody's the wiser. When Prosecutors and cops start going to jail for trying to railroad innocent people to jail it will stop, and not before.

The policemen in this story have been indicted for their malfeasance, but the DA is playing ignorant and is getting off scot-free, and the cops probably will too, in the end.

Yep, it shouldn’t just be the officers getting indicted. The police dept. internal affairs office that made the “investigation” should be fired - if not also indicted, and the leadership chain above them all the way directly up to the top should be canned - with prejudice.

This is what happens when there is not a dog around to shoot - they frame a black guy for something.

There was a case a few years ago where a vet on leave was driving on the Grand Central parkway in New York city one night and the cops pulled him over and just shot the guy execution style. Three other people were in the car including a correction officer, and the cop asked the vet to put his hands on the dash which he did and *bang* he shot him dead then lied saying he was reaching for a weapon which he wasn’t. I moved right after that (for other reasons) so I don’t know what happened to that case, but doesn’t it seem odd how right after Obama was elected all these fascist type police stops seem to be happening? I read about this crap almost all the time now. Here’s one from yesterday:

All through the extraction from the vehicle and the cuffing of the man, one of the cops is shouting, “Why are you going for my gun?” repeatedly.

It looks like this is the new SOP now that cops are being recorded. If they can say they thought the person being brutalized was going for one of their guns, just about any response, including summary execution, is fair game.

Of course, in this case, it is clear the man had his hands up the whole time. He never reached for anybody’s gun. The cops were lying to the dashcam as a matter of course. Thoroughly corrupt.

The citizens of Bloomfield Hills should be outraged. But, somehow, since it was a young black man with his face ground into the pavement, I think they will let this one go.

The ending ain’t happy enough for me yet. It will be when the thugs get thrown in jail, and join the General Population (no special “cop privileges”) to explain their actions to them. That will be happy.
