Cuban-Americans: Castros Can't Survive Without Venezuelan Oil

They tell Newsmax that Cuban dictators Raul and Fidel Castro are desperate to avert a disruption in the massive shipments of oil that their destitute nation receives daily as a gift from their socialist comrades in Venezuela. The value of the more than 100,000 barrels a day Havana receives has been estimated at over $5 billion annually.

On Thursday, former U.S. ambassador to Venezuela Otto Reich told "America’s Forum" host John Bachman in an exclusive Newsmax TV interview that the unrest in Venezuela "absolutely" can spread to Cuba, if those vital oil subsidies are interrupted.

"The person who agrees with you, the two persons, are named Fidel and Raul Castro," said Reich, a Cuban-American. "The Cuban economy today is being kept afloat by Venezuelan subsidies of free oil."

Cuba has just traded down in sugar daddies (from the Soviet Union to Venezuela); better that than admit communism doesn’t work. Enough communists in the US apparently still believe it is the future; they point to a supposedly great healthcare system in a country lacking basic necessities (Cuba), while ignoring the collapse of an oil-producing country like Venezuela where people are scrounging for toilet paper...

This would indicate that the Cuban paramilitaries and security forces in Venezuela will be all in to keep Maduro in power and the Venezuelan protests will have to be much more like those in the Ukraine to have any real effect.

Don’t we get oil from Venezuela too? I know fracking has really support America these past few years, but how much of that do we export and how high will oil prices go if the world loses oil from Venezuela for a while?

Citgo is basically owned by the government of Venezuela. I won't buy there.

The Cubans reportedly have 30,000 "advisers" on the ground and slotted into every level of the "Colectivos," the N. Guard, the national police... everywhere. Planeloads are arriving in San Cristobol, where demonstrations began Feb. 2, and where the water, electricity and Internet have been shut off.

Working for the regime, also, are the connected drug cartels, perhaps as much or more a source of revenue to Havana as Venezuela's world-class oil reserves and infrastructure.

Huge rallies, Feb. 22, may decide whether this can be called civil war, and whether Venezuela has suffers the long-term nightmare of Cuba or eventually wears the Cubans and Chavismo out.

killing two birds with one shot... Ending the communist regime in Venezuela means the end of the Castro/communism in Cuba.

The police and armed chavistas thugs are killing unarmed Venezuelan students while the World keeps a shameful silence.

— Thomas Jefferson “The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”

— Thomas Jefferson “No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.”

CUBA, Venezuela.. A disarmed people are an easy prey for tyrants... AMERICANS DON’T ALLOW ANY APPRENTICE OF TYRANT DISARM YOU!!!
