There is much to be said about the Obama administration's linkage of California's extreme drought and global warming. For starters, President Obama and John Holdren, his chief science advisor, should spend a little time in the United States Global Change Research Program's library. There they will find the U.S. government's recently updated 2008 study on the issue, “Weather and Climate Extremes in a Changing Climate.”
The study notes that the 1930s and 1950s were drier than the current decade and concludes that “droughts have, for the most part, become shorter, less frequent, and cover a smaller portion of the U. S. over the last century … The trends averaged over all of North America since 1950 are similar to U.S. trends for the same period, indicating no overall trend.”

Obama and Holdren would also do well to check out the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for 2012, which said this about the global drought situation: “There is not enough evidence at present to suggest high confidence in observed trends in dryness due to lack of direct observations, some geographical inconsistencies in the trends, and some dependencies of inferred trends on the index choice. There is medium confidence that since the 1950s some regions of the world have experienced more intense and longer droughts (e.g., southern Europe, west Africa) but also opposite trends exist in other regions (e.g., central North America, northwestern Australia).”
As for California, Obama and Holdren should read the Jan. 25 edition of the San Jose Mercury News, which reported the conclusions of scientists studying droughts in the Golden State: “Through studies of tree rings, sediment and other natural evidence, researchers have documented multiple droughts in California that lasted 10 or 20 years in a row during the past 1,000 years -- compared to the mere three-year duration of the current dry spell. The two most severe mega-droughts make the Dust Bowl of the 1930s look tame: a 240-year-long drought that started in 850 and, 50 years after the conclusion of that one, another that stretched at least 180 years.”
In other words, as Prof. Roger A. Pielke of the Center for Science and Technology Research at the University of Colorado puts it: “Some places have become dryer, others wetter, and not much confidence in asserting the presence of any trends at the global scale.” Since the science doesn’t support assertions by Obama and Holdren that the California drought is a product of global warming, and since surely neither of these worthies would ever intentionally deceive the American people, the only reasonable explanation that remains is that those assertions are political, pure and simple.
Political, that is, as in being intended to satisfy Obama's dedicated supporters in the Big Green environmental movement who worry that their man may be about to approve the Keystone XL pipeline. They probably shouldn't worry, though, because the president doesn't appear inclined to do anything that would offend his political base, and especially not Big Green.
In an indirect way, The “Man Made Climate Change” movement and the drought are connected. Both are liberal ideological disasters for humans.
At least part of the drought, as I understand it, is related to the forced removal of irrigation to California’s breadbasket. We learned from the Dustbowl that drier earth with less vegetation doesn’t store much water to evaporate back into the atmosphere, hence the air remains drier and makes drought conditions worse, potentially exponentially.
Well, the libs decided to dry up what was once a desert. Suddenly, the old desert is back. There is less moisture to feed the atmosphere. This doesn’t even touch the obvious, stopping irrigation will significantly reduce water reserves for any area regardless of drought conditions.
In a drawer of knives, the Obamadork is a toothpick.

Climate change or Global warming if you will, no one ever seems to address who is really behind this scam. Sure, the scum in politics are in our faces pushing it but scientific truth overwhelmingly refutes that MAN MADE climate change exists. I could be wrong but I believe the world wide acceptance of climate change won’t go away because Agenda 21 being pushed by the NWO elites who control most if not all governments need it like breath as a conduit to nationalize and control all manufacturing around the world. Once they accomplish that mile stone, the NWO elites will have any and all material luxury items they will ever desire but under their control, any item that is mass produced and uses fuel and or electricity will be regulated out of existence thus none available for the rest of us. Carbon credits for a few to make money?? That is nothing but trickle down appeasement to garner water carriers for the cause and Al Gore is their biggest sucker. NWO elites control the world’s money so why would they need a carbon credit scam?
Don’t confuse the people with facts and science... the global warming dogma says that man is causing this due CO2 levels and anyone who disagrees is a denier (i.e heretic).
As of this writing, there is no Scientifically proven, laboratory tested, peer-reviewed, published article on any known Cause and Effect between the amount of CO2 and change in air temperature.
In the field, for example, the Global ppm of CO2 has increased in the last 17 years, but the Global air temperature has not changed, or has gotten colder depending on the site being measured.
Last year the Arctic Ocean Ice Cap grew in area and thickness with Global CO2 at its highest level, providing yet another addition to the very long list of field test failures to the proponents of the pop-culture, junk science speculation called “Global Warming.”
CO2 is essential for plants to obtain Carbon, and thus CO2 is an environmentally friendly Green House Gas right along with the most abundant Green House Gas, Water Vapor.
BTW, Water Vapor abundance in the atmosphere is 25,000 ppmillion, and CO2 is 400 ppmillion, +/-, adjusted for volcanic and seasonal variation.
Fear-mongering, Spendaholic Politicians can fool some of the real Scientists some of the time, but they have convincingly proven that they can fool all of the “junk scientists” all of the time.
Since abundant CO2 is essential for Green Plants to grow by the process of Photosynthesis, we FReepers are duty bound to break down the Spendaholic Politician’s Barrycades that un-Scientifically discourage the increased generation of life-giving CO2.

In Christopher Horner’s excellent book “Red Hot Lies”, he makes the statement that if global warming does occur, that desertification will recede instead of advance, and was borne out by observation in the last warming trend.
