I hope I don't get flamed here, but I know several gay people who can not stand Obama or Hillary.
I want their votes, for our conservative candidates.
Lots of gay folks don't want to be Muslim, don't want to get nuked, don't like high taxes and many do not like abortion on demand.
Can we attract their votes without watering down our values?

Their values are not ours. Their values are based on their sexual desires.

That we share some beliefs does not make them ‘one of us’.

The fact that their sexuality is their primary focus says no.

In my hometown, I happen to know an entire beauty salon of closeted Republican homosexual hairdressers.

Ironic, isn't it, that it's their Republican identity that they feel they must keep hidden from their peers?

That is for them to decide. Two party system, limited menu.

If public affirmation of what they perceive of as their as their identity is their core issue, then no, we cannot win their hearts without defiling ourselves.

If they choose to laugh it off, and accept that their peculiarity is not something conservatives want to hear about or accommodate, they may choose to vote conservative/RINO/Republican anyway.

The same goes for any special interest group or identifiable demographic subset that has a problem with full-spectrum conservatism.

Certainly. Keep your bedroom to yourself and don’t demand special rights.

>> Can we attract their votes without watering down our values?

That depends. What do “we” have to OFFER “them” in order to buy their vote?

Do they expect approval or endorsement of their sexual perversion? Sorry — no can do — and it’s not my choice, it’s a COMMANDMENT of ALMIGHTY GOD, Whom “me and my house” obey.

Now, if you’re saying “can’t we just avoid running off individuals who happen to be homo but keep that fact to themselves and otherwise mind their own business”? Yes, we probably COULD and SHOULD do that. In the same way that a homo who understands he’s engaging in behavior proscribed by GOD is welcome in the pew of a Christian church. (Just not the clergy, thank you very much.)

But then... that’s never how it is, is it? The homos don’t keep a low profile. Instead they band together into PRESSURE GROUPS with catchy names like “GOPProud”. What exactly do you think they’re proud of? Proud of conservatism? Hell no. Proud of their PERVERSION. And chomping at the bit to “mainstream” it and “celebrate” it. And get laws passed legitimizing it and criminalizing those who are against it.

Letting that camel’s nose under the tent is a BIG mistake. Mark my words.

You are asking Conservatives when you should be asking if the gays can embrace our values and not try to jam their sins down our throats.

> Can we attract their votes without watering down our values?

If you think about it for just a few minutes, you will see that the answer is no.

Their agenda is hostile to our way of life.

They are not just “live and let live”.

They are just as Stalinist as the 0bama they hate.

Wow!

This goes a long way to understanding your support of Mitt Romney.

"Can we attract their votes without watering down our values?"

Sure, but when they come to us as a gay organization, then no. When they do that, they are looking to use their combined contributions to sway our agenda.

They can vote how they like, we do not have to change anything.

Let's be sure to invite the pederasts, necromancy enthusiasts and bestiality aficionados as well as long as they don't like high taxes.

I have to agree. My landlord for my office is gay and he HATES Liberals. Just because you are gay, it isn’t that all gays are LIberals. My landlord is a business owner (he owns buildings, a hamburger restaurant and a bar.)

In short: no.

There are strings attached. Groups like GOProud have a very clear agenda that they are forcefully trying to push that is completely counter to conservative beliefs. It's the same EXACT agenda as the HRC and other liberal groups: Redefine marriage. Indoctrinate our children with the pro-gay agenda. Call everyone who disagrees "bigots".

The actual founder of GOProud is already out today calling conservatives who stand for traditional values "forces of bigotry". Nope, no agenda there!

They are not coming to CPAC as conservatives. They are a gay agenda pushing group. That is their reason for wanting to come.

Should CPAC let an abortionist group in because they don't like high taxes? Should there be a GOPro-choice invite to CPAC too?

If CPAC is standing firm for the values of Reagan's 3 legged stool — fiscal conservatism, strong national defense, and yes, social conservatism/tradition family values — then no, they cannot welcome groups that are actively trying to destroy any of these values. Conservatism cannot stand without all 3.
