President Barack Obama will ask Congress to set up a $1 billion Climate Resilience Fund in his proposed budget next month. Obama travels to Fresno, Calif., today to discuss the drought plaguing most of California and the Western U.S. and to announce new administration actions, including the proposed billion-dollar fund. According to the White House, the fund would go to research on the projected impacts of climate change, help communities prepare for climate changes effects and fund breakthrough technologies and resilient infrastructure. As another snowstorm socks the East Coast, the coal industry has a message for the nations electricity customers: We told you so. Signs of growing pains have abounded in the past few weeks of frigid weather, which struck a U.S. electrical grid thats in the early stages of a long-term shift away from coal-fired power to natural gas: wholesale electricity prices have spiked in regions such as New England, natural gas costs have surged with demand in Boston and Chicago, and power companies in Texas and Eastern states have had to urge residents to cut back. Some utilities have even been shifting, yes, back to coal.

Why is everything with these libs “growing pains”?! And why do lib voters keep agreeing?!
Liberalism’s bad boy on another idiotic spending spree.
Guess it didn’t get cold enough for the bastard this winter.
Too bad we can’t shut off the power to Rat nests until and unless they stop the war on energy.
Apparently tax money can stop Climate Change.
I have a similar idea, a Solar Depletion Fund that will protect us if the Sun goes out or has lowered output.
I’ll develop curricula, give lectures, run classes, and invest in or investigate technologies to mitigate solar output issues.
I’ll be the fund manager. I think .01% of all energy spending should be sufficient.
I live in southern Rhode Island...two miles from the coast. I pray for a warming trend every day. This winter has been all too cold and snowy/wet. If, in fact, global warming occurs, and it will sooner or later; I for one, will welcome it. I wouldn’t mind seeing palm trees on my beaches and along the coast. Preparing for climate change for me is a matter of a change of clothing.
Obama is a true radical Marxist. In true to form community organizer fashion, he rings the global climate change alarm bell better than most. They are all full of it.
We entered a solar minimum in 2007. We won’t see warming again in our lifetime.
another way to spend money? throw $$$ into the sky to seed the rain clouds? or exactly what is this latest Billion of our dineros supposed to actually DO for us? (answer: more gifts to his communist and islamonazi political supporters and contributors?) or?
spending like the last $6 or $7 Trillion in new public debt we will have to pay off for him...... supposedly tons of money for “shovel ready public works projects” but after 4 years of spending and no projects he lamely admits there weren’t any (but all our money is gone)
They keep agreeing because growing pains mean slush funds which are distributed to them.
They can’t tell the difference between growing pains and death pangs.
A lot of slush for a warming planet.
He is spending this country into oblivion. It won’t survive. Last year the gop gave him a blank check. This year they’ve given him a blank checkbook. He will use it to destroy us. Just like he’s planned all along.
We’re broke, Mr. Obama.
